Okay, I have to admit, this looks pretty cool, at least for the story and such. We'll have to wait and see how the gameplay actually turns out.

Also, I cannot wait for steam to have a big sale on the first 2 so I can be up to date when the new one is released.

Wait what? 2027? LOL! What kind of fool believes we'll have advanced THAT far in just 17 short years. It's just like those crazies in the 1980's who thought we'd have colonized half the solar system by 2000. C'mon now. Not gonna happen.

If anything, bump it up a couple of hundred years, then maybe.

It's 2027 because of when Deus Ex was set, 2050ish, and back in Space-Year-2000 that's how people thought the future would be :p

Oh and, this trailer is absolutely fantastic, but I won't form any sort of opinion until I've played it.
I've been tricked in the past when assuming that a Deus Ex sequel (or in this case prequel) would be anywhere near as good as the behemoth of excellence that was the original...

Cool cinematic, but is it just me or does this look a little less like Deus-ex and more like cyber prototype or another action slaughter game?

Nice symbolism in it but it really does feel like Square Enix's style (spider robots, hole in the ocean, people with really weird hair etc)

Just hoping the cinematic is only covering the really dramatic stuff as I liked to be more covert in the last games.
Still awesome in its hacky thrusty, explosion filled way, can't wait to see some real gameplay.

This looks completely fething awesome. As if I needed another reason to buy this game.

That could have passed as a movie trailer, and a damn good one at that. I love the sound of the universe, and I'm really liking the art style.

To be honest, you mute the dialog and you've got a perfect Neuromancer game right there. Hell, I wonder why in the name of heck they couldn't have made a Matrix game this awesome looking, swap out the colour pallet from gold to green and you'd be set!

Please, please don't let this game suck.

I'm actually becoming emotionally attached to this game. The trailers make it look that good.

Frankly I could care less how it looks I just hope it amounts to something better than DX:IW(Or Bioshock since that is now the standard of FPS RPGs......sigh) a confined and limited game....

Heh heh, good point perhaps I'll do what I do for most JRPG's and turn off the dialogue and insert words from my imagination.

It's hard to say how much of that was actual gameplay. Looks like it featured a lot of cinematics. Of course, those all look nice, but what do you expect when Square-Enix is involved? I'd like to see a long extended run, not just snippets of scenes.

It's not an extended run, but it's a little more complete than the other video.
That video looks great, looks can be deceiving though...Alpha Protocol is a good example of that.
No...
Alpha Protocol was a great game, it was just a an RPG, and not a shooter.

Seems like you can fire weapons while running in this one. First red alert.

Why is that a red alert? In Deus Ex you could fire weapons while running at ridiculous cheetah speed and jumping across the room, they just wouldn't be very accurate.

I'm just pleased they didn't show any just sitting behind chest high walls taking pot shots at other people behind chest high walls. Doesn't mean it won't be in there, but that's a good sign.

There are some gameplay clips around, maybe you have already looked. There is one were he talks with some people and another with combat. You can atleast see the game in motion but you cant really judge the gameplay.

You could fire weapons, yes.
But would you hit anything? No.

Having the combat rely completely on player ability means that this will certainly be an action game (Not necessarily shooter) first, RPG second. I think we'll be lucky if we even get a game worthy of the overused "Action-RPG" term.

Many will be pleased. I will not be one of them.
Pessimist? Maybe a little. I just don't have high hopes for Square Enix.

I can't help but think "Why is he fighting Daft Punk?" every time I see a trailer for this

Hmm. While it's impressive (even amazing) it still doesn't chanmge my initial thoughts about the project- that it looks like it'll be an amazing movie.

Sadly, there is absolutely NO in-game footage in this trailer. While the original Deus Ex (and even the much-maligned Invisible War) had fantastic stories, what made them great games (yes, IW was a great game, just not the sheer unlimited genius of the original) was the GAMEPLAY. I want to see some kind of confirmation that this game will be more than just a string of linear infiltration/blasting missions strung together with cutscenes. No matter how good the story is, no matter how much eye candy is on offer, no matter how thrilling the action, if the overall gameplay doesn't measure up to its predecessors this could be the biggest disappointment since Daikatana. I'm staying hopeful, but as I said, this trailer doesn't really give me any reasons to remain optimistic...
