Trailers: Dragon Age II: Legacy DLC

I loved DA2! I thought it was WAY better that DA:O. DA:O is, frankly, too big and a bit overwhelming. DA2 is amazing, it's concise, blunt yet suave, great mechanics and the display, holy crap what an improvement from DA:O! Watching the trailer totally made me squee with excitement. I'm a relatively new video gamer, but I've been tabeltop roleplaying for years and if there's one thing I love in a game, it's good story. A good, captivating heroic tale is something I'll never pass up and DA2 is a great story. So to all you nah-sayers and uber game specific fanatics, I say to you this: I'm pretty sure Legacy is going to be downright badass by principle alone.

You are not the only one. For me, the game only had one slight problem, the dungeons of course, but there were enough for me that the greatness of the rest of the game overshadowed it.

same here. actually mass effect 1 had the same problem. all the side quest "dungeons" were exactly the same but everyone seems to have forgotten that.

DA2 was good enough by most standards, but not Bioware. At risk of sounding like a fangirl or alike, it just wasn't to par with the previous one or any of their other products. Sure there were some improvements, the combat and skill tree were a little better, but it felt very souless and smelt a little like a cash-in.

With all that I'll might buy the DLC, if it looks interesting when more information comes to light.

Christ, this got the same feel as DA2, and that's really bad bad bad.
But even tho it will probably be boring(the dlc that is) I got a proposal for The Escapist revievers, give it 5 stars in advance and a note that it's better than Witcher2, because I'm quite sure this will be the case.

A darkspawn more powerful than a f*cking Archdemon!? Well, I'm sold, though I have a few nitpicks below.

The "most powerful darkspawn ever encountered" looks like the Architect from DA: Awakening 29 if you're quick with the pause). Also, darkspawn reproduce via the taint: qunari= ogres, humans= hurlocks, elves= shrieks, and dwarves= genlocks, so what species spawned the creatures @ :44? I don't care if they add to the lore, just so long as they keep it consistent.

How about a griffon? Or maybe a drake . . .

Wait. Where is this in the timeline? Because I see Anders wearing his normal-not-black-bat-shit-crazy outfit, but in the pictures of gameplay they released I saw Gray Warden Carver... So is this happening post-game or during? o.o

Sorry if others have answered this question already, but all the DLC will take place after Act I and before the end of Act III, unless the DLC is an expansion pack.

Look, I really enjoyed DA2, and think the majority of the criticism for the game is unfounded, but I do think one big legitimate criticism was the repeated dungeons. At least it made sense in Mass Effect, that in space perhaps bases follow similar designs. Schools and houses are rarely unique, they usually have many many twins. Also while the map of the "dungeons" in Mass Effect were the same, they at least switched up the boxes so you couldn't navigate it blindfolded.

The problem in DA2 was that you'll have two caves in completely different areas that are EXACTLY identical, with the same rickety old structures with the same level of damage to them. That's just not believable. It's one thing to reuse them in the same location in different Acts, sure slavers now use was raiders used 3 years ago, but come on . . . why is the same dwarven architecture and setup being used in a slaver camp on the wounded coast AND in a cave on Sundermount?

The problem with a lot of this kind of thing is that it has to try and top itself in drama, urgency, and "epicness", which I don't think ever worked

When's the real sequel to Dragon Age?

Oh and people are mad because they didn't want things changed. Dragon Age was heralded as "back to RPG roots" gameplay which really paid off, and then when DA2 came out as hack and slash with "accessable" RPG elements, gamers were pissed. I tried the demo, played 20 minutes, thought "what the hell is this?", and quit.

My Theory:
Dragon Age began development before EA bought Bioware, so of course it was going to be good and EA couldn't change a lot of it, so they forced the devs to place In-game commercials and day-one DLC. DA2 began development after EA bought them, and wanted a Mass-Appeal watered-down hack and slah action RPG to take advantage of the first game's success. The IP really took a hit though, and many swore off of it, including myself... and I'm not even that big an RPG fan.

I thought that lair of the shadow broker was the only really good Mass Effect DLC and on that same token so was Awakenings, so they are about the same.

Basically I wasn't a big fan of DA2, but seeing as DA:O is my hands down favorite game, it was inevitable. I think most of this vicious hate is a bit hyperbolic though. I'll probably get it once I get my copy of DA2 back from a friend. I think the biggest problem for me was that DA2 strayed too much from DA:O as far as content and lore. I wanted more Grey Wardens and more political strife, less mages and templars whining.

So is this the equivalent of what Awakening was to Origins? Or is this just one random DLC like DA:Origin's Witch Hunt and stuff?

And more importantly, is there going to be something like Awakening for DA2? Cause if there will be, I might as well wait until all of them are released at once instead of buying tidbits of it for about 8 months.

I'll probably buy it later, once i've finished Persona 4 (again) since there's nothing else interesting coming out for a while.

Also it's nice to see all the DA2 haters rallying around this particular forum, it reminds me of the (relatively) old days...

Oh wait i ordered Persona 3 FES yesterday... Scratch that this'll have to wait a month or two, damn my acquisition of a PS2
