Shaundi looks kind of cool, and I'm glad to see they're bringing back important characters from the second game. I still want to know what happened to the old gang leader from the first game (I love Keith David).

Julius? Uh, there's a special mission unlocked by going through the police department and listening to a number of phone recordings. One of said recordings tells you where to find him, and you go and catch up to talk about the good old days.

you kill him in said mission as the recordings reveal that he was the one that orchestrated the bombing that takes out your character at the end of the first game and puts him in a coma, as well as helping the police arrest Gat. He got the impression that you and Gat were a wee bit too psychopathic (I have no clue how he got that idea...) and that the Saints were making the city worse than the original gangs had been.

Anyway, really looking forward to this game. I'm interested in seeing how playing as the top dog will work out. It's rare that that happens in a game, or really any media, so it'll be intriguing to see how it all pans out.

Have I ever mentioned how much I want this game? Well, I want this game a lot. A whole lot. It's going to be awesome. If I can only get one game this fall, I'm canceling my Gears 3 preorder from last year (when it was coming out in April) and getting Saints Row The Third. Also, I'm totally ready guy in the video. Bring on all the wacky goodness.

Oooh, okay. I never actually played the first one, I watched my friend play through some of it, and I was there when he played through the last mission. We were both sitting there, the protagonist goes "Can we hurry this up please? I wanna go to Freckle *****'s." and the boat blows up. I turned to him and asked "Was that supposed to happen?" He just gives me a 'WTF' look and says "I have no idea."

Pretty cool moment, the ending (back then) was a complete surprise. Pretty punctuated, as well. Good to know they put a resolution in SR2 for that, this just makes me like Volition that much more.

Edit: Damn, that was intense. Kind of sad to see Julius go out like that, though.

If you want to know why I'm looking forward to Saints Row 3, the following screenshot should tell you why.

I feel that it speaks for itself.

I was pumped for that Man cannon car sense I saw it used at E3.

Am I the only one who'd prefer a game in which we're going up against the Saints? They're so powerful now, and it seems they've partnered with Ultor and have reality show members on their ranks, they're clearly the enemy.

Welllllllllll........seeing how no one else has quoted you and said they agree with you my guess would be that you are the only one(on The escapist anyway) who wants to fight against the Saints! And Im most certainly am against that idea too, especially since that would mean I'd then be going against all the work that I'd put into getting the Saints led by my created Character to where they are now!

Things don't look good for Johnny Gat; SR1 got shot in the leg, SR2 stabbed by a sword (almost died), if the progression follows... Harsh, always liked the character.

I never played SR2 expansion with Troy, always wanted to see how that one turned out.

Hoping to see Legal Lee back in the new game.
