As long as we also get to pick up some kickass alien weapons alongside the (keeping with the modern setting?) "realistic" weapons, this game will be awesome. I was kind of hoping more Unreal Tournament-like "huge" weapons, but hey, it looks like some good old run and gun fun, so, bring it on, I say. As long as it doesn't feel like playing Counter-Strike with aliens!

Wait... something is not right here. Generic weapons lineup of bland peashooters with no feeling of impact. Pistol, shotgun, machinegun...

Well, haven't seen enough to judge it yet, but there better damn well be some hand cannons in this. And laser weapons. And just generally oversized, unrealistic, ridiculous and immensely satisfying weapons! THERE BETTER BE!

Seriously though, that machinegun was just weak... aiming down the sight, a faint disappointing "ratatat". The minigun didn't sound too impressive either. If I wanted to play Modern Warfare, I'd... uh, buy it. I guess. But I didn't. I want extreme!

I was listening to the music linked to by extra creditz on their "Anonymous" episode instead of the trailer's sound, and it sounded much better that way.

Serious Sam had 'realistic weapons' since the first encounter. The pistol, the sniper rifle, both shotguns and the first machine gun were all weapons that were realistic for the time. I don't see why people are getting all in a huff about the lack of fisher price guns.

That isn't to say that those fisher price guns shouldn't be there, which they should.
