Agreed this just looks like mass effect licensed edition.

my only thought throughout all of that was

"and this is star trek how exactly?"

I mean I saw no diplomacy, no exploration, scans, investigation etc etc... I saw a thrid person shooter with star trek written on it

I agree 100 % I blame J.J. Abrams and the movie he created for this one ( to which I still refuse to believe is " cannon " ). And to those who say that movie is " cannon " for any reason.
