Fucking GHOST RIDER? Badass... Also, all the Capcom fanboys are filling out over Strider being in the game.

Hawkeye is cool, and he's going to be making a full-fledged appearance in the Avengers movie. Not sure if he'll be wearing the purple suit, though...

And straight out of left field comes a generic enemy from a classic Capcom game! I heard the Firebrand is pretty notorious, but seriously, who'd of thought?

Most of these choices are terrible; and still most of them weren't even the characters people actually wanted either.

Capcom, whats gone wrong? Get purchased by Activision while we weren't watching?

I actually like that they chose characters nobody wanted. You get some pretty creative choices through that. Besides, people want some pretty sucky characters, so sometimes they're not always the right choices.

I can only hope that there will be an "Arcade Edition" - like patch for original MVC3 owners. Strider Hiryu is one of my "I can't believe they left him out" characters, so I'm glad to see him return with all his signature attacks in place. Can you imagine the teleporting madness of a properly played Strider Hiryu and Wesker on a team? I hope Jin gets in as well. Aside from that there's no "OMG GOTTA HAVE" characters there, but Ghost Rider certainly looks like he'll be powerful - lots of complaints about that reach I bet.

Wow, that trailer actually made me care about the name Firebrand, because it made me remember who he was! Good god, they've gone as far back as Demon Quest. That almost makes up for them not showing Phoenix Wright footage.

I do feel for the MvC3 owners, though. Having to buy the exact same game again but with the content you wanted in the first place, for 40$ is a pretty low blow. At first, I was considering the counter point, that "DLC would basically have amounted to 60$ for all 12 characters, so getting new stages, new chars, and gameplay balances for 40$ is a bargain," but then I realized that newcomers to MvC3 would essentially be paying 40 bucks for everything, while people who purchased the original game would be out by at least 100. This of course, not factoring in that the price for the game would have already started going down, but still.

Anyways, FIREBRAND! HELL YEAH!

Firebrand actually got his own spin-off series on game boy.

I love how people complain about Megaman not being on the game (maybe not on this thread but on the Internets) but seriously... I mean the Megaman creator left Capcom... Said that working at capcom was hell. I think as cool it would be to have X or the cute original bomber, it simply has to stop... I like the inclusion fo Hawkeye... People complain how similar he is to Taskmaster, but seriously... It's like saying taskmaster is similar to cap, or to spidey... It's the whole point of the character...

And just saying, Capcom won't be getting everyone happy on the same boat. It's like MvC3 is announced, full roster leaked... WHAT NO PHEONIX WRIGHT??? NO BUY!!!! Now UMvC3 Announced, full roster leaked... WHAT NO MEGAMAN??? NO BUY!!!! Porbably in the future it would be something like UMvC3: AE announced, full roster leaked... WHAT NO GENE????? NO BUY!!!!

Lol well my point is people should worry less about the characters in the game... More like worry about the fact that we actually got a beta for $60 less than 6 months ago and were promised a lot of stuff that we didn't get... Like Spectator mode... (not actual quote) A fast paced game with 3 on 3 matches is really difficult to have an spectator mode on with the online connectivity and such... Now they are saying they are going to include spectator mode... Wasn't THAT difficult was it? Probably a lot of work, given. But not as impossible as they made it out to be.

I mean I understand the whole Tsunami/Earthquake tragedy and the toll it took on many things, including the development of post release content for the MvC3 game. But cmon! I mean, make it like an expansion... Not a separate retail game...

Also I know we gamers hate change (I understand gameplay tweaks) but some changes I'm not digging, like the HUD (so hard to see the info now) or the HUGE X blocking almost the timer... And once you use it turns into a Y... Okay... Makes me think of chromosomes...
Also Ryu's Shin Hadouken and Shin ermmm Spinning kick have changed animations... for the worst :p

I mean, I don't know... Maybe support both titles with similar content for each... Keep the same HUD and have the online be cross-title... (e.g. Ps3 users of the MvC3 title can go online against UMvC3 PS3 users in ranked matches and such) <<<<That would be perfect for people who just bought the game... They wouldn't feel like they got the inferior version. Not a perfect solution but thankfully I'm not on Capcom development team for UMvC3.

But anyway that was a comment that quickly turned into a rant... I hope this game doesn't suck also that eventually some sort of miracle happens and Capcom decides to make this DLC.

Yeah, spite how cool it is that they added Ghost Rider and some other characters (more to come with that too) but, really it doesn't matter. Why? Because Online matches are beyond unbalanced and OP. What I mean is that if you're not dedicated or spending hours upon hours of learning moves then you're going to get crushed with no chance at all.

People pull off such bullcrap with spams, infinite combos, and so forth that just makes multiplayer feel like it's not suited AT ALL for new players, or even decent players. It's probably not suited for Pros ether because one mistake and you're screwed. So yeah that's why I stopped playing the game after that point. New characters are indeed sweet, but if they don't help with the OP in the game then no point in my opinion.
It's like that at first, but then it gets to a point where you're doomed if you don't choose certain characters.

Recall a few lopsided matches you may have had online, regardless of rank. You may notice a pattern of certain characters. That's mainly because certain characters just work in certain situations, coupled with how the game itself works. Wolverine and Wesker for example - you don't need to be "good" with either of them. If you have even a semblance of competency with either character, you can mow down people with the best of them.

Now, compare that to any tournament matches, if you watch those. Now those same characters are nowhere to be found (I've yet to see anyone play Wesker in a major tournament) and you see the players essentially "being themselves" in a sense. In fact, you see characters you'd never come across online, save once in a blue moon: Spidey, Cap, Thor, even fucking MODOK and Viper.

Some things in the game are just silly, yes (X-Factor giving a ridiculous power and speed boost for most characters, certain character abilities like Wolverine's Dive Kick and the fact that Hulk's st.H can to completely stuff supers, the overall "scrubbiness" of the game at large), but everyday people like you and me have no power against that. I've been actively playing fighters for about 10 years, and this is simply the nature of the beast. It sucks, but you can always play another game. Everything isn't for everyone.

I'm not trying to be insulting by the way. Just telling it like it is.

Thats just online gaming in general and I think MvC 3 is actually one of the friendlies in those terms. Try playing Street Fighter, Tekken or Guilty Gear as a new player against someone who knows what they're doing. You will get absoloutly DESTROYED. Those are techincal fighters and I think those are more about timing your attacks and mind games then anything, and players who have a knowledge of what the entire cast is capable of will be much better off. Guilty Gear is a bit faster , but still.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 only has 3 different attack buttons and a launcher, and their are only so many variations you can do. Damage scales fast and combos hurt like a ***** when their performed. So yeah if you don't know how to block or predict your opponent you'll die so fast you'll swear your opponent was a cheating bastard that makes the game impossible.

After playing MvC3 for awhile I tried to go back online with Blazblue and yeah I'm nowhere near as good as I used to be. I'm getting killed in that game now because its way more techincal and I'm not used to the system. Just takes time, I don't think MvC3 is quite as unbalanced as it appears because almost the entire cast is capable of doing such ludicrous amounts of damage. I've seen Viewtiful Joe and MODOK sweep entire teams if played right. I even came across a Spider-Man player that wrecked my shit in 5 consecutive matches, I 'm at about 3rd lord rank by the way, so I'm somewhat decent. (good fights though)

So I heard... Actually, he got two games on the Game Boy, AND a game on the Super Nintendo!

Is it wierd that the first thing I noticed when watching this trailer is that they didn't spell Haggar's name properly?
