This is just insane. Amazing work. Also, want a new Blade Runner game badly.

Wow. Just... Wow.
I love how far we've come with this kind of stuff. Seriously. That's awesome. :D

Hmmm... UT3 doesn't have that interface, does it? They should totally patch their test version of the "Scaleform" UI into UT3.

Looks absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the chance of any games looking that good are virtually nil.

Reminds me of the Samaritan demo Epic made:

Thank you Epic, for making our games just a little bit more awesome.

Excellent graphics; however, I sadly predict that most games won't be that good as either they'll not have enough money to pay for all that detail, or they'll spend all the cash on graphics for zero gameplay.

But it still looks awesome, especially the "Blade Runner"-type bits.

This is not unreal... this is all too real.
Excellent work, Epic!

I wonder, will the current gen consoles (360 specifically) be capable of taking full advantage of this awesomeness?

The engine looks great, provided one can get decent support for it [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/108891-Silicon-Knights-Keeps-Up-the-Fight-Against-Epic] I suppose.

You know what's the best thing about this vid? The humongous nostalgia flashback that music gave me:
Ahhhh Facing Worlds, how I love thou. The sniping matches, the teleport-battles, the frantic fights in the towers. Good times... I swear, what I wouldn't do for multiplayer music. TF2 needs it's own! And no I don't mean the occasional track in the starting menu.

Anyway, looks amazing, and I do love the look of that first UE 3 engine too, the Samaritan one. That'd be one killer game.

I wouldn't say so. Unreal Engines have a fantastic reputation.

Very exciting. The amount of realism is staggering. Great work as always. The level editor looks like something even I could use.

Looks like they released this to try swaying back companies looking at Cry Engine 3. Looks great overall, but I still notice a number of things that really are quite annoying (based from experience I have with UE2.5's UnrealEd3 through UT2004 and KF (mod and game)). Mainly this is the bot pathing is still manual from the looks of it. It's really annoying to have to create all the pathing by hand, although I understand fully that this can allow for some extras, like using certain jumpspots and such, but why not code in part of the build level mechanic to also work on bot/AI navigation, but allowing for manual placement of certain elements (like the aforementioned jumpspot, or a teleporter).

Gotta wonder about the 'realistic foliage' bit though... are the plants, trees, and such all released with the editor from the get go, or are those things actually needed to be made and these were just the tech demo only things and not actually included?

It says DX11 in the trailer, and only recent PC cards support that. Consoles have somewhat modified DX9 hardware.

Unreal Engine 3!

Bringing you:
- Browner environments!
- Bloomier explosions!
- Bristleyer space marines!

Just kidding.

I'm not much of graphics person, but that did look pretty nifty.

Indeed. Just need to license the engine and half the work is done right off the bat. Many high-end games use the Unreal engine.

And I wouldn't be too eager for Facing Worlds with Engine 3. Not without a barfbag at least from the motion sickness. Nah, bring it on!
That is one of my favorite maps of all time. Gets me thinking, Epic has been so much into their engine, that they never get much attention for their music. They put out some sweet stuff.
