Remember in the days of the original Gold/Silver, confiscating Game Boys became a regular practice for teachers. I think this will certainly minimize such problems. I, for one, think this is an absolutely brilliant idea. A way to bring the Pokemon universe even closer to reality for fans.

It's too easy... I mean train your pokemon by fighting, if you have to do this you just suck.
Seeing as the bigger factor in Any RPG is time, this cuts down on the Time.

It's not meant to replace actual training, it's meant to be used alongside training whenever we go somewhere on Foot. I can easily see mixing and matching for greatest efficiency.

Doing this will probably give your Pokemon terrible stats.

I will raise my Pokemon the old fashion way. Through hours of pointless grinding.

So you get to play the game without actually PLAYING the game... Seems kind of pointless to me.

Haha, how many manchildren are already planning their trip to Home Depot to put their little Pokemon pedometers in paint shakers?
I am intrigued by your logical thought processes human...

But you're taking away the gameplay of the game...

Somehow I doubt the fact that I have to walk up hills is going to calculate in, sadly.
Maybe if you told it that you were walking in the snow it would feel sorry for you and give you more exp.

I like the idea.

Is it stange? Yes.

But its from japan, so what can we expect.

My guess is that its a type of reward system for exercise. Its will give kids instant gratification for exercise, the more I exercise the more experience my pokemon gets. Also its will make prompting children to exercise that much easyer.
Some people seem to be missing the point, unlike this guy. This isn't meant to be something that people see and freak out over because now they just HAVE to get the game, it's something extra that the CEO of Gamestop might feel benevolent enough to provide as a preorder bonus. It's just something extra that lets you play the game when you don't have time to actually play the game. It also provides an immediate reward for exercise, so you don't have to wait for a month before ou get something out of that five mile run every morning.

I think this is a really cool Idea. A lot of people are probably going to abuse it...I probably will too. But if their thinking up things like this who knows what comes next.

I said "have to" which implies that's it's your only option to do. If you can do other means of training then this doesn't imply to you. Also isn't the training like 1/2 the game? Getting this is like buying an already leveled to the max character in an MMO or a bot for online gaming. This would just take the fun out of the game...

A big part of the game, yes. But the main draw of the game is collection and the social aspect (i.e. battling your friends)

Making them exercise? Riiiight.... reading this, how many of you pictured a chubby japanese kid shaking that pokeball thing sitting on his bed chewing the japanese equivalent of Cheetos? Because that's what will happen...

or, as not a zaar stated it, paintshaker from Home Depot...

So doing something like exercising instead of sitting and grinding yourself stupid in tedious battles is a lack of skill now? I'd like to point out that Pokemon has never required much skill at all. As long as you can play rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock you can play Pokemon with a degree of skill. And this is coming from someone that used to grind himself stupid on the original Silver and practically every game after it.

Looking forward to it even more since it's bundled with the game. Please don't just be a Japanese exclusive.

We cyclist gamers are going to have the best Pokemon evar. I travel at least 3-miles on my bike a day. I can't wait for this... I hope it's released in the US.
