If you don't like consoles, fine, don't play on them, but kindly don't look down your nose at me simply because I do.
...

I don't believe I've ever looked down on someone because of what they play a game on. I just don't, or can't, see why the perception of PCs is overpriced and complex to use.

That's not an attack in any way, it's just that I cannot see it, though I've tried. Maybe because I've been hacking for so long.

Seriously, if that appeared to be an attack, it really wasn't.
it's definitely because you've been hacking so long. as far as i'm concerned, all computers run totally on magic, and if my computer didn't run a game for any reason i would assume it was because it was cursed. i don't know how to use system specifications because i have no idea what ram or gigs means, and when my husband first talked about 'overclocking' i literally wanted to know why you would want to make the clock run faster.

Pointless elitism aside, there's a very simple reason why I'm predominantly a PC gamer - I use PCs more regularly in my everyday life, therefore, it seems logical to use it for computer gaming as well. The extra capabilities of a device which will cost three or four times the price of a console do actually come in handy sometimes, even if it doesn't regularly come into the equation when it comes to actual computer work.
Agreed. I don't just use my PC for gaming - it's a connection to friends, access to a black hole that eats incredible swathes of my time (I'm looking at you, internets!), the ability to do my work at home, raytracing, (very bad) digital artistry and photo manipulation, an entertainment system, etc. And I do all these other things more than I game. Even if I had a console (not to mention a state-of-the art TV to hook it up to, since that's what appears to be required), I'd still need/want a PC. So really, there's no choice for me right now. That's not to say that I would never consider getting a console, just that I have no use for one right now. Hopefully one day soon we'll have systems that will defy classification because they'll be all things to all men, combining the best of consoles and PCs. Then we can drop this pointless debate and get on with more important things, such as TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!! ;)

Who cares whether you play on consoles or the pc? How can you have an allegiance to a piece of technology you shell hundreds of dollars for, and why would anyone taunt you about it? Just play whatever you like and let the issue rest.

I stopped reading as soon as I encountered the attitude. I agree with some of the other posters about how the article can be construed as flamebait.

The game has not been released yet so that gives me hope that Bioware can fix the controls for Dragon Age:Origins.

As someone who has made the choice not to get one, not through loyalty, it confuses me why there's such an animosity still.
Seriously Root, look back at your posts in this thread. Essentially what you're saying is "This stuff is easy, I can't figure out why you all find it difficult."

Now tell me you can't figure out why it might rub people up the wrong way.
So what your saying because he finds it easy and can't see it as anything but easy and he tells you that he can't see it as anything but easy you feel insulted? So what? How is that his problem? Go sort out your own feelings of inadequacy stirred up by his comments before trying to censor what he's saying essentially claiming he is being an elitist.

No, that's not what I said at all. Try re-reading it, I'm sure you'll understand it eventually.
