I can't live without it. I love Trance, Hardstyle, Jump, Psytrance, Hands-Up, Electronic, the list goes on.

It can be very pure, relaxing music, or it can be epic and intense at other times. Trance also makes a great alternative video gaming soundtrack, just turn off the in-game music and crank it up.

Anyone else here into Trance or any kind of Electronica? If so, what are your favorite artists/genres?

Breakbeat, House, Experimental, Progressive House, Trance, etc...

Been forever since I've used any of those terms.
Carl Cox is at a local club tonight... might go, but it's $40USD

I don't know many specific artists, but I like electronic and techno in general. Robert Miles is quite good, so is Paul Van Dyke (Though I don't believe either of them have done anything since the 90's). I tried making trance music at one point. It wasn't bad in my own opinion, but nothing special.

Awesome, if not for the price of entry I'd be all over that.

I've had a run with that as well, using FruityLoops and ACID Pro. I should keep messing around with them, it's pretty fun when it starts coming together.

I'm big into Rob Mayth, Infected Mushroom, Mauro Picotto, X-Dream, Groove Coverage, and pre-porn-and-sell-out Basshunter. Back when he was all about nerddom.

Armin Van Buuren's radio show called A State of Trance is a great listen, too.

I like trance and rock from Apocalyptica because I can properly read while listening to it (as it doesn't have lyrics to interchange with). Besides, it has a calming effect after coming from school or work (nothing beats girlfriend massaging you though).

I like dancing on electronic and Michael Jackson music though. And working in photoshop under the constant drumming and electric guitar chords of heavy metal music. (especially Down with the Sickness from Disturbed).

I once shelled out something along the lines of $170 (VIP) for a huge outdoor event in LA (7 DJ's/artists I'd been listening to for years). So tonight it's partially price, and partially I have capoeira as well. May get some good dopamine/endorphins flowin from the exercise though.

Wow, same here. I work to it very easily (especially stuff like Psytrance without lyrics). It's also great love-making music. Haha.

Heh, indeed. My girlfriend has other tastes though. I'm not a very big music guy, so I just let her do the soundtrack

Though I have absolutely no idea which sub-genre they fall under (electro-house I think), Justice are undoubtedly my favourite Dance act just now. Waters Of Nazareth, Stress, Justice Part 1&2, D.A.N.C.E...

Definately potential successors to Daft Punk's crown.

When I started DJing in the 90s I loved slow, melodic, deep trance [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=25DrLkI_OK8]. Sadly the industry was totally headed the other way. In frustration I turned to Disco House [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PKJHQzfBnYE] and all the butt shaking it caused without even trying. Eventually I got disgusted with myself as a pretend musician and ended up playing mostly Detroit Techno [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=d7HAj1Z0_8c&feature=related]. It's melodic, but much more subtle than the banging club trance that blew up with the likes of Ferry Corsten and the melodic Euro-House of artists like ATB [http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T7fFbViTO9Y&feature=related].

Now I only listen to folk music from the 1940s.

Ministry of Sound's Clubber's Guide to Trance 1999 mixed by ATB is still one of my all-time favorites. I some Happy Hardcore from the same era that I still listen too whenever I need audio-caffeine.

If I were to buy some sort of electronic dance music today, it would probably be Goa Trance.
