What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets.

So my brother has a PS4, I do not. I have a PS3 so I have a PSN account and have set it up on his machine, the question I have is: If I buy a digital game/dlc or get a code for one, can I re-download them on a new PS4 when I get one? Are there any pitfalls to look out for?

I plan on getting a PS4 soon, but have a game or two I want to play on it and want to know if I should wait on getting any extra content for them etc. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, all of your games and DLC is tied to your account, not the machine.
Ah, so it shouldn't be an issue then by my understanding of what you explained here.

Captain obvious reporting in!

Be sure to log onto your brother's PS4 with your own PSN information. I know, duh, right. Only then will purchases follow you around.

There's something confusing and yet beneficial to logging onto multiple PS4s. I would experiment with this on your own, as I recently logged onto my friend's PS4 with my PSN account (my own PS4 at home was turned off). I saw all the games I had purchased as digital downloads and downloaded them again--to my friend's machine. I then logged out of my account and logged in as him. I was then able to see all of my purchases and play those games.

The thing is, I don't think that should have been possible, but it was. Perhaps Sony did this on purpose.

If you or your brother both play the same game under your own accounts, all game saves are still mixed into the same directory within the PS4. This means if you don't have PS+ and decide to manually copy your saves to your new machine with a USB key, you could accidentally grab your brother's saves.
