so i recently saw the trailer for the 2nd transformers movie and it was the same type as the first one: hey look its giant robots blowing the crap out of each other and for some reason human actors are there who dont really need to be there and dont have talent yay!

i can already see it going the same route as the first one, decent story on paper, horrible execution with many, MANY loopholes and in-continuities. your thoughts?

It has Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime. This is enough to make me watch anything.

yeah i think the trailer is fairly stupid it just shows you random flashes of robots and people screaming pointing out what we already new...that there will be fighting

It's bound to start faster - that's my main issue with origin movies.. there's too much exposition and leadup before the action starts.

with all the characters already introduced, they'll be able to just add new ones, and start the movie with action that doesn't stop til the end..

You know what?

I liked the Transformers movie. I loved the first one, and I'll probably like the second one just as much if not more.

Yes yes, i get it... Michael Bay. No story line, cheap popcorn movie whatever.

But you know what? Fuck it. I'm into this stuff.

To be honest you can only expect so much variety from a franchise based around a childrens toy advertising campaign.

I've known it will be exactly like the first. It's the way Hollywood handles typical movie-goers.

If I offend anyone with this post, deal with it. It's just an opinion. I have very strong thoughts about present-day media.

I think you're right. There is a kind of numbness and standard routine in the media today. I don't know about America or other countries, but can say it's very true in Europe.

Indeed. Transformers isn't a franchise that I even give two shades of gray about. The effects are cool, and there are big explosions, so why not?

It's more than true for America. In fact, it's become the standard for the majority of American citizens to flunk elementary education. No, this is not an exaggeration. I strongly believe the society I currently live with downright hates any sort of education. So far, I've counted 3 other students in my school who know the true meaning and value of education. As for the rest, they can go burn in the pits of minimal wage hell for all I care.

...er, sorry for the rant. If I offended anybody, I am sorry. No, this has nothing to do with political correctness; I actually don't like hurting people.

Giant fighting robots, peter cullen, explosions, Megan Fox... What is not to like? Oh yeah, that shitty story with sector 7.

I'm a big Transformers buff and I liked the first movie for the visuals, and that was enough to keep me satisfied. I will go see the second.

What did you expect? Seriously, dude. It's a movie based on a cartoon show based on a line of kids' toys from the 80s. Giant robots blowing stuff up and stabbing each other in the face = entertaining.

Meaghan Fox is in it, so who cares? As long as she's there all the robots can sit around and talk about existentialism for all I care.

I have a feeling that the plot will have many similarities to the animated Transformers movie from the '80s.

Heh you say it like you have just made some bold visionary statement, rather than just a blinding flash of the obvious. I dont think anyone here would disagree with your assertation that this movie will be the same as the first one except with more/better robots.
