Well obviously I posted this a bit late, but better late than never.
*possible spoilers*

For those of your who loved Transformers, the sequel will probably tickle your fancy. But for every plus there is a down.
Transformer 2 greatly improved their robotic fight scenes. I, for one, really enjoyed being able to actually tell the difference between the combating bots. The first movie made them look like a ball of tin that someone had tossed into the dumpster. I loved seeing more of the Transformers, but I wished they would have highlighted more than just Bumblebee, Optomus, Starscream, Megatron and Fallen. Jetfire was in there, but he was kind of stupid.
I want more TRANSFORMERS in Transformers. I want to see more of the other Autobots and Decepticons!

What was very stupid about the sequel?
I've been scanning around forums and talking to different people about their thoughts on the transformer that turned human. I won't say much more for fear spoiling it.
First off... Did NO ONE think that was abosolutely stupid?
First off, I've owned A LOT of the transformer toys (the toys that the show and movies are based off of) and none of them turn human. To me, that's too far of a stretch.

Also, the conflict the above mentioned transformer causes between Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf's characters never GOES anywhere. It has no closure what so ever. First it was "I'm so mad at you!" and she says "I love you"
Really? Either it should make some sort of internal conflict, or it should not have been added at all.

Now this is for anyone who has children.
IF you took your kids to see the first Transformers because you heard it was a very clean movie (it was), then transformers 2 may make you think twice before letting younger kids see it.
Yes, I understand it's a PG13 movie, but even I was a bit taken back by the amount of cursing and sexual references in the movie. The kids will enjoy seeing Optomus whip some tail, but you as a parent might feel a little disturbed when you kid asked you what a "Scrotum" is.

But, casting asides it's flaws, the movie will really boil down to one question.
"Will I enjoy it?"
The answer is YES.

The pointless scenes and the lack of robotic interest will all be thrown out the window once you seen Optomus kick some bad guy booty.

The movie is good if you know nothing about the doctrine.

If you do you will hate it.

I just can't watch the film since hearing someone describing Megan Fox as looking like a Thai ladyboy with a tanning-bed addiction.

Well even though I'm a woman, I thought she looked pretty.

Oh and it could be in the reviews section I guess.

The action in Transformers 2 is better than the first one (you give Michal Bay more money he's going to blow more stuff up). Everything else in the second one is awful, i can't believe that people are asking if this movie will do better that the Dark Knight.

I liked the first one mainly because I loved the transformers as a kid and seeing them actually do some proper damage with explosions an destructions was great. I havn't seen the second one but as long as I can shout "hell yeah!" when seeing OP blow stuff up I shan't be dissapointed.

This is truth. Myself and many of my friends have seen the movie and enjoyed it, but as far as I know none of us has extensive knowledge about the Transformers universe.

Also, concerning kids in the audience, I was actually sitting near a kid with his mother when I saw it, and kept glancing over at them whenever a sex reference came up, wondering what was going through either of their minds.

There were human Transformers in the Japanese cartoon.

If that's the only reason you won't watch it your life must be very simple.
Haha, lets face it, the reason most guys go see those films is because they think the opposite. However if you need more reasons there's always the fact that the films have ruined a beloved childhood memory, the first film was about as enjoyable as rectal trauma and the fact that I don't really want to waste another two and a half hours of my 'simple' life. But, y'know, thanks for spending your superior time putting me in my place =)

I'm more interested in Megan Fox than the robots. For giant robots, nothing will beat Gundams.

Lol, if you go into Transformers 2 expecting an oscar winning story then you'll be sorely disappointed and only have yourself to blame, it's about fucking giant robots beating the shit out of each other, of course the story isn't going to be good, it serves its' purpose more than enough to tie everything together though. Not sure why so many people are on their high horses about this movie, trying to find loopholes and stuff about it to bring it down for some stupid reason.

I've enjoyed Transformers for a long while before the movies, I don't see anything wrong with this movie at all, it does what it's meant to do. I can't find the exact link but Blunty did a video review of Star Wars: The Clone Wars when it came out said that those who gave it low scores and slated it were those who went in expecting a major hit with a tearjerking story, it was a movie based on a soon to be Saturday morning tv show, if you went in thinking not like that and not putting yourself in the shoes of the kids then you were stupid to think that it would anything but rubbish. You push your expectations of what a film should be onto it and then when it doesn't meet your idiotically high expectations your cry and whine, and moan about it not being good when your own bloody mindset made it shit.

And really if the kids are at that age then the parents should already be teaching them about sex, the shouldn't find anything in relation to the sexual references offensive or disturbing. Completely unrelated, I got told off by a parent where I work for saying to my collegue "so and so slept with so and so" with her kid present, who was no older than 10 I would say, lady your boy probably hears ten times worse at his school. *****.

Whoever said that is an idiot. She's the hottest chick alive, bar none.

Don;t take this the wrong way but I would quite happily kill you to be with her.

It really should, not sure how many reviews we've had of this film though.

Anyway, on topic, I actually didn't mind the film. I can see where some people are coming from with hatred for people who like it solely because of Megan Fox and this idea in the OP about you wanting to see more transformers in it, but personally, I liked it.

Only comment I could fins about it was that whilst it was good, I couldn't find anything special about it to make it worthwhile making a sequel. It was good, but nothing better than the first one.

I thought the first one was...okay. Shia Labeof was alright in it i guess, but the voices for the transformers were cool and, when I could see them, the action was decent and Megan Fox was pretty hot.

But the second fails on all levels. The action was even worse than the first one, the dialog was worse, the acting was worse, and Megan Fox wasn't even hot!!

***Before you call me a Transformers hater, I did enjoy this film and the 1st one, but it's just has a few flaws. ***
Call this the blandest review ever but, Transformers 2 is like the first one, but with more robots, and longer rolling time. Besides the eye-candy that is, explosions, Megan Fox and of course...
Opitimus Prime's strangley, extremely detailed three way beating.

There is not much more to offer.

The story?
Let me start with the humans. Typical love story, typical that they won't say they love each other for some reason, which just is a cliche, to keep the story between them going. Then again, you can't really do much else with these two. Oh they are split apart in terms of distance as well.

Now the Autobots/good robots?
Some sort of special police force named NEST who search and destory Decepticons.

And finally the Decepticons?
There pissed off, that they lost the battle and Megatron from the first one, and so look for a way to strike back.

So the story is mildly good. It bonds these robots and people, just like a cyborg. (Not that children, the target audience, would give a shit about the storyline.)

The action/arsekicking?
It's a lot better than the 1st one. Seeing now I can tell whos bad and whos good, helped me give them the thumbs up for decent action scenes, which is a upgrade to the 1st one.

Conclusion?
Well there are spoilers here, but I have concealed them and shown my three stupidest parts in Transformers 2.

SPOILER NO.1
Those two "gangsta" brothers Mudflap and Skids. They are very annoying and unamusing.
SPOILER NO.2 beileve me, this is a biggen.
***Whatever you do DON'T unviel this spoiler, until you seen this film.***
When Sam dies. He goes to robot heaven!? Where there are the other Primes that somehow resurrect him and the pixie dust hes been carrying with him. How can that be possible?!?!
SPOILER NO.3
Sam gets hit on by a Decepticon.

So I say yes go see this film, if you like action, Transformers and Megan Fox.

And this right here is one of the contributing factors to the increase of teen pregnancy in today's Western society. Whilst I can see why you might find it difficult explaining why that lady is being hugged by four men, the word "scrotum" is comparatively simple to explain.

OT- I enjoyed the movie for what it was- Nostalgia toast.

I just have to nitpick but when was the first movie clean, does anyone else here remember the sex and masterbation jokes from the first movie? Although it's not like I care because I know that most kids didn't understand them but they were still in there.
