Transformers movies

I clicked on the "Obama says turn off vidja games and read a book" link in that other thread. When I got to the bottom, I noticed this:

So, bad news is that Indy is going to be raped a second time by Lucas and Spielburg. However, on a much, much, MUCH more bright side, LaButtfuck said he's not going to be in another Transformers Movie. I thought that evened everything out... and then I saw the sentence where it said Bay wasn't going to do another one either. Shia then went on to theorize that the movie series would probably see a reboot.

I'm optimistic too but I'm not going to hold my breath until I see the trailer for Transformers: The Real One.

I'm hoping it's Beast Wars or at least features The Dinobots. Of course Transformers: The Real One likely won't feature Dinobots until Devastator is introduced which might not be until Transformers: The Real One part 2 (or Transformers live-action movie-film-for-theaters 5)

The first Transformers movie was ... not bad.
But the second one was very, very bad. I have never walked out of a theater before or since but that time I wanted my money back.

Needless to say I will not go wathc the third one.

Well the reboot will be on the right track if the Autobots and the Decepticon look more like the G1 or the G1 comics. I know they said from the demo shots of the 3D G1 appearances didn't look convincing but a good studio should be able to pull it off.

I'd like to feel the same way, but unless they get someone like Uwe Boll or M Night Shyamalan, I really don't see how Transformers post-Bay could be any worse.

Also, Beast Wars would make a great movie. Dinobots I could sorta see, as long as it's not wholly about them.
