Transformers 2 suffers from the same weaknesses as X-Men 3. The plot is too convoluted, too long and too much of a violation of previous (perfectly reasonable) source material without providing a decent replacement. There are too many new characters who remain largely undeveloped or who are there to provide very cheap laughs. The dialogue lacks any serious wit or gravitas, there's not a lot there worth quoting.

Having said that, the fights are good, the graphics are better than the first one, mainly due to being a bit more colourful so the robots are easier to identify in motion and Optimus gets the chance to kick arse which is precisely what he should be doing.

Megatron shouldn't have a boss; he's Megatron, he answers to nobody. And Starscream shouldn't be quite as much of a pussy; yes, he should be scared of Megatron but the whole point is he's 1) still a devious git and 2) still around because he's too good for Megatron to just kill off.

Is this about the Transformers Film or the tv series?
If the latter, then it all went to shit after Transformers:Armada.

And in Transformers 2 i had a little fanboy moment when Jetfire was introduced. =D

Why the hell are the transformers little more than plot devices in their own movie? Who the hell cares about the human characters (except Lennox, I would like to see his men and the transformers much more) when you have gigantic fighting alien robots?! Come on Bay, it shouldn't be hard to make a good movie based on that! Also, jerky camera motions for action scenes aren't cool, especially when the action would be hard to follow normally. They invented steady-cams for a good reason.

it wasnt a bad movie. In fact it have everything i expect from a giant robot action movie.

I mean, dont expect Oscar's material there, i dont want to have a deep story, intense emotions, etc... i was to see megan fox ass and explosion. and i got them, so i'm satisfied with that.

Lately most critics a see about movie seems to forget about genre. you dont expect that same thing in a drama that you would in an action or horror movie. Theses critics seems to forget what a movie is made for. i want to sit in a theater and relax for 2-3 hours. I dont want to see an action movie where i would see a freudian analyse of society trhought the rich emotion repress by the main caracter... i want to have a guy blowing stuff up, and will go see another type of movie if i want to make my brain work.

Another thing that irritated me. why i see a lot of people saying to say : "it sucked, just like the first one !" ? if you didnt like the first one, why did you even bother see the second one ?

I don't get all the hate. Me and a few of my friends went and seen it and thought it was amazing. Yea the plot was pretty much nonexistent, but I went to see it for the action. And I have to say I was pretty happy and will defiantly buy this when it comes out. Or renting then burning. Either way, I'm getting it.

And where the fuck was Soundwave?!
Ravage got its spine ripped out, the poor thing.
Where the FUCK was Soundwave?!
Why did Soundwave talk like the Claw from Inspector Gadget?
Wait, so...was Soundwave in the movie or not?

This is something that really pisses me off, not your post but the idea that something like this MUST follow the source material to the letter.

This kind of thing, transformers, dante's inferno etc, are BASED on their respective source materials, they are not supposed to be clones. The source material is a BASE, nothing more. The transformers movies are not supposed to be the same as the source material. The movies take a few major things from the source material and make it into a movie, those things being giant, transforming robots, the two factions and the battle for supremacy, that's it. The new characters don't need to develop, they are there to provide entertainment and a bit of extra eye candy, the three motorbikes aren't developed at all because their purpose is to look awesome, which they do quite well.

There are too many people who go into this expecting a heartwarming tale about the struggle of humanity in a harsh world, or something like that. People are paying way too much attention to the plot, so much so they they pick apart the flaws in it, those people are in the wrong cinema. The movie is about epic robot fighting and Megan Fox, if everyone realised that then they would be able to appreciate this move for the fantastic feast for the senses that it is.

Thats what I was wondering, I think soundwave was the guy who turned into a cassete player.
Ah. ALSO, I noticed that Starscream got away again like he did in the first. Maybe plans for a third film are in the making?

Its Michael Bay, if he can torture some more CGI out of the designers I'm sure he will. Hopefully they'll drop Sam Whitwicky and the plot altogethor. I'm surprised they feel the need to make more robots, I must have seen at least 20 die in the last 2 movies and if they have more which can magically appear from Space I don't see the issue.
Hopefully Micael Bay won't go all George Lucas and try to explain the science behind how dust magically revives robots.
Yeah, they seem to have condensed Transformers so much that they can just make whatever the hell robots they like just appear. Who the fuck were the two motorcycle female ones?

Frankly, the only thing I didn't like was that Unicron didn't appear in the movie. :(

Also the racist twins and dream sequence were stupid.
The twins weren't racist, I'm pretty sure they were more like rednecks than black people.

In the words of Charlie Brooker:

"The first Transformers film was a dishwasher loudly shitting in your face for 2 hours."

My thoughts exactly.

Soundwave was the Satillite that gave orders to the Decepticons.
How did he turn into a satillite hacker, from a cassete player?
A wizard did it.
meh he used to be a pillar in front of the autobots base in the first episode of "more than meet the eyes" in the original serie. so i guess he can have pretty much the form he want.
