Trap Shooting Tips

[Shock and Awe]

I am thinking about starting trap shooting to beef up my resume for the Air Force Academy, also because I think I will enjoy it.(as opposed to school sports which I couldn't care less about) Does anyone have any tips about good shotguns or ways to get this off the ground?

I already have a Remington 870 shotgun and the Air Force Base near my residence has a place for Trap Shooting.

I'm a personal fan of the Mossberg 500 or 590, my advice is to get a shotty that can chamber 3" shells and then "acquire" some non-lethal beanbags.
