Green house peace a Tree-hugging company had this to say about nintendo:
"Nintendo remains in last place with a pitiful 0.8 points out of 10, scoring zero on all e-waste criteria. The company has bannedphthalates and is monitoring use of antimony and beryllium and although it is endeavouring to eliminate the use of PVC, it has not set a timeline for its phase out.

Nintendo discloses carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from its own operations and commits to cutting CO2emissions and other greenhouse gases by 2% over each previous year. However, Nintendo admits that an increase in business led to a 6% rise in CO2 emissions in 2006."
Personal reaction:
Wait wait, Do you think gamers actually give a crap about how bad or how good for the environment are their gaming consoles? I think this is actually a dumb and far too stupid claim. If you didn't know gamers are the most selfish, independent and anti-social human beings in the world. I know I know, you just about to say "Im not like that" or "that's just the gamers you know" hey, tell me whats more relevant you, or the millions of people logged on now on WoW in this exact moment?.

These "green" organizations today are just a pain in the ass to all of us. there are way more dangerous threats out there than the Wii being bad for the environment. I tell you what dough, Do you think this would reduce nitendo's sales. from a 2% carbon emission to a 6%, these people grew productions x3.

But who knows, casual gamers are probably tree hugers as well.

Well let me just stop the ranting now before a green terrorist organization car bombs me with their hybrids.

Yes, yes I do.

There are no more dangerous threats out there than environmental destruction, and you have just demonstrated that Nintendo are contributing to that.

Actually: I care. I know that ignorance is bliss and if I don't care the world won't end tomorrow, but I for my part stopped being ignorant some time ago.

If you didn't know gamers are the most selfish, independent and anti-social human beings in the world.
Interesting that you call the forum in general selfish and anti-social. And what makes gamers independent by definition?

Your opinion. But just because there is something more dangerous doesn't mean you shouldn't tell if something else is dangerous as well.
Examples:
Just because asbestos would be worse to my health, I don't like the idea of nanoparticles in my ketchup or soft drinks as long as we don't fully understand what they can do in the human body.
More blunt: just because nukes are more dangerous than napalm bombs doesn't mean that I wouldn't care if someone sprays napalm on my roof.
etc.

bah, the environment's already trashed, nothing to do but play video games and build up an immunity to toxins by drinking tap water while the whole biosphere boils away.

You can't really win if all consoles were "green" then they would have some new target.

I wonder if they signed the Nintendogs present that PETA sent the "They programme your grandfathers nightmare" people down at Call Of Duty XD
