Treyarch Boss Hints at Zombies for Call of Duty: Black Ops

If they take out Commando and include Zombies this might be worth purchasing.

They've already been noted as saying something along the lines of "we're not fans of commando," and with how many people became fans of zombies, it would be stupid on Treyarch's part for it not to appear.

if they do include a zombie mode again, i hope for the same quality in the characters you play as, i know its slightly left 4 dead-ish but some of the lines the 4 characters in codwaw say have me in stitches.... "so much death, like eastern front all over again"

I'm definitely hoping for another Richtofen-like character, he was hilarious.

As long as there's zombies and they don't blatantly copy MW2's multiplayer I'll definitely get this game.

One of their quotes when talking with oxm (http://weplaycod.blogspot.com/2010/05/oxm-call-of-duty-black-ops-scans.html [here]) was that they were taking creative risks, including one single player mission that, according to OXM, was more like an RTS, but I'm guessing that the main portion of the game, the infantry combat, will still feel have the basic CoD feel.

I've probably played more Nazi Zombies multiplayer then other CoD3-5 multiplayer modes combined. Usually 2 player split screen or system link with @encaen, but we still get to round 30-40 in Der Riese on a regular basis (assuming I don't do something stupid and die on round 2).

If only they'd release the 4th map...

Of course they're reusing the idea! At the end of the day, the majority of players were playing Zombie Mode, not the multiplayer. And the map packs were almost exclusively dedicated to the Zombie Mode. I'd be more surprised if they DIDN'T decide to use Zombies again. And in the thick jungles of 'Nam, with that high grass and stuff? Sounds like a good theater for a Zombie Mode.

RTS????? Sounds interesting. If they have a good campaign and a zombie mode this game should be good. I wouldn't be surprised though if at a 25 kill streak you get a "Tactical Napalm Strike" or "Black Hawk Gunner" at 11.

WaW wouldn't have been nearly as memorable had it not been for the Nazi Zombies, so it was kinda obvious they'd bring them back. Keeping fingers crossed they remain Nazis

Well with this you get zombies, but you also get to kill them with C4, silenced HK's, and RPG's. Where can you go wrong?

Another zombie mode would only interest me if they make the beginning guns worth half a damn and upgrade my body from origami paper to actually being able to take a hit or two more before I fall down and cry like a sissy.

Der Reise in particular, is one of the best gaming experiences I have had in a while.

The campaigns of COD5 and MW2? Not so much.

Thank god, was hoping they would do a special mode this time around since they were pretty dedicated to it last time.

Although I don't see zombies working too well in Black Ops - WWII weapons + nazi zombies works pretty well. Fully auto, high powered weapons and Russian (?) zombies sounds a bit crappy

hmm, maybe a reason for me to finaly get this game, I frankly don't care about any call of duty game (I even get bored of the multi player after a while!)because its trying to be gritty and realistic, but the zombie mode was just crazy enough to make me reconsider for a quick five minutes before I tossed the game and went on to play gears 2 again
maybe the magic will strike twice?

I actually agree btw that we should still have nazi zombies for two reasons:
1) It would be hilarious too see how they would crank them into the game, as you said, with a B movie plot like with the first nazi zombies. (My plot idea was something like, "In 1951 remnants of the german nazi party fled from their hiding places in Europe and South America too continue their work in the secluded lands of the far East. Although several bases were set up to continue the work of World War II scientists, the primary base was set up in the forests of Vietnam. Just a few short years into their experiments, the Nazi Scientists were interrupted in their studies by the american invasion. Soon the American GI's were brought into contact with the chilling work of the Scientists to overcome death.")
and
2) We get vietnam veterans vs zombies and nazis at the same time, so what you have a chance of seeing is John Rambo going toe to toe with the undead and the world's greatest evil!

Just when 'nam wasn't bad enough, they through some zombies in there...

No zombies, no purchase for me. Simple.

That's my boy's position as well. He has COD5 and 6. 6 is collecting dust at this time, while he and his buddies co-op and kill nazi zombies. Their favorite level appears to be this power station one. At some point, you are so successful that your gun starts shooting lasers rather than bullets.

Quite a site.

I'm hoping this Black Ops has this game play a lot.
