Trials Evolution arrives on PC

Released yesterday. Anyone picked it up yet? I'd been waiting for a PC version since its release on XBLA about a year ago. It went from a must-buy to a wait and see though, after reading a bit about it since its release.

1. It uses Uplay. Even if you buy it through Steam. Some people are also saying that the Uplay key they're given doesn't work and so they can't even play it.

2. A significant number of people are complaining about terrible performance on new systems, despite the game having a fairly long open beta period for those who preordered it.

Oh, and if you're Australian, the Steam version applies the typical $5 Australian tax ($20->$25). GamersGate have it for $20 though, which I assume gives you a Uplay key but they don't say anything more than just "DRM: Other DRM" in the requirements.

Anyone with the game care to weigh in with how it's working for you?

Also, was the Xbox version as awesome as all the reviews seemed to say?

Must Buy. Definitely. I bought it at the very end of the beta and when I didn't receive a key and started to look around and then noticed a couple (a lot?) of people having issues, I became incredibly anxious about my most ever anticipated release turning out sh*t, however: eventually someone at Steam did something, I got my key, fired up the game, (frowned, turned down shadows and switched off antialiasing[footnote]I did not update any drivers, so there could very well be some leeway performance-wise[/footnote]) and.. basically, I've been playing ever since.

After all, it is a console port, so it does come with some quirky bits like the way you navigate the menues, but there is absolutely no reason why anything should deter you from getting it. As far as highly addictive fun goes, there is nothing else

ReallyNiceRacingGame meets Super Meat Boy meets ... SourceSDK/Garry's Mod. What are you waiting for?!

I've got it on the 360, as well as all the DLC so far and yeah, it's brilliant. Little frustrating sometimes but that's because I'm a ham fisted oaf who follows the Jeremy Clarkson school of "POWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!" to get through every level.

But yeah, the 360 version is pretty awesome.

It seems like the beta was open to pretty much anyone who pre-ordered through Steam. Or something. Official release was 4 days ago.

After that Uplay multiplayer issue with Assassin's Creed 3. I'm going to wait for a few weeks before buying Trials Evolution.
