[Warning, this video contains LOTS of swearing!]

Trials HD was the most frustrating game i ever played, it was the only game to make me throw my controller across the room! but despite that it was really rewarding when i finally completed it.

What is the most frustrating game you've ever played? i don't mean just hard, but actually made you want to break your controller in half?

Was about to make a thread about this, I didn't realise it was out today so it was a pleasant surprise when I saw a friend in game.

Addictive stuff, maybe we could get some forum races or tournaments going?

I didn't realise it was out today either, i thought it was supposed to be part of the "summer of Arcade" thing. It wasn't very well advertised, was it.

Wow, I'm surprised by the lack of interest in Trials Evolution on the Escapist.

I know this forum tends to lean towards Japanese games and RPGs, but still...

We lean *towards* Japanese games? When did this happen? I thought everyone held a cool disdain towards them.

Just checked and at the time of writing five threads on the first page refer to Japanese games; there's a few for ME3, Skyrim and Bioware which make up the rest.

I'd say that fits my description perfectly.

I've spent seven hours today trying to download this. Finally found an Ethernet cable so might actually get to play it now! My wireless is made of cack.

I found Trials HD too funny to be frustrated. It got HARD, but I was having so much fun that failing tracks didn't really anger me. I'd say The Lion King on the Sega Megadrive was my close-to-snapping-controller game. Holy hell, that was a difficult game!

Oooh, how I envy you. So, so much...

Anyone (still) playing Trials 2 SE?

I jumped in on Trials HD and just downloaded Trials Evolution yesterday. Unfortunately, it downloaded the entire time I was awake. I can't wait to play it tonight. Anyone gonna be sharing tracks?

I so much didn't want to buy this, given that i currently have so many games to play, but still ended up doing so thanks to the stunningly pretty and fun trial levels, as well as the promise of having an editor that allows you to do crazy stuff with triggers, event handlers, and all those things. On a console.

I just...i couldn't resist.

Yep, haha, I actually played it today. Beat one of my times... Too Many Tires, one of the medium difficulty tracks. I used to play it A LOT while listening to podcasts, music or watching a movie. 85ish hours played over several years, ranked 2287. Don't know if that's good or not. Maybe only 3000 people actually played it past the first 5 tracks for all I know. At the very least, I'm a bike zen master compared to when I started.

OT: Any of the Trials games are at least in my Top 10 or so must frustrating games. Street Fighter 4 or League of Legends probably make me rage more though. I will never ever be any good at SF, no matter how much I play it. Think I'd literally have to do daily combo drills to get any better at this point. Don't really want to make SF a job though. It's alright, I have a few friends near my level I can play with.

Trials Evolution is nice. But it also oddly makes me want to play Trials 2. I think Trials 2 is still my favorite one. The outdoor environments are nice, except when you can't tell what the contours of the rapidly upcoming ground are because the camera is zoomed out 2 miles and the track is bending around or obscured by a doodad. It's also annoying when steam or a metal beam support or something blocks your vision. Other than that, it's more Trials with even better infinite replay value through community tracks.

Pfft. I guess everyone hasn't played Elasto Mania for countless hundreds of hours, and more for honing seconds out of personal best times then... I've played some Trials 2 SE and it's pretty good, but the physics are kinda crappy and don't work nearly as well and consistently as Elasto Mania, which it's obviously based on. There's not as nearly as good a feel or a great working easy-to-learn-difficult-to-master system in Trials that there is/was on Elasto Mania.
