On the 27th of October, 2008, My best Friend Zacharias Fields died in a car crash due to his drunken mother, his birthday was on the 20th of October. He was an awesome gamer, and had an obsession with Psychonaughts.

So last month, I went to GAME, Bought 2 Brütal Legend games, went to his grave, and buried one there.

I know I just lost out on about £40 but I didn't feel like it was a waste of money...

So I ask you, Escapists. Have you done anything weird as a tribute to a loved one?

Man...that is the best nerd story I have ever heard!
I applaud you!
*sniffle*
[sup]Yes, I'm completely serious. That was so awesome it brought a tear to my eye.[/sup]

Unfortunately, I don't really pay enough attention to the people who have died around me...mostly because they were my grandparents, and I didn't interact with them much.
Oh well!

Every year, before christmas i pay homage to Carl Sagan, he died in a cancer research center in Seattle. I watch all his old documentaries. Great man.

Where is his grave located? I wouldn't mind owning a copy of brutal legend... assumeing you never opened it the CD should still be intact...

In all seriousness that was a awesome jesture,

hope someone thinks of me that way after I'm gone.

I've been one of the few people fortunate enough to not really lose anyone close to me. So I can't say I have.

Thats a really nice thing you did, though.

I still painted a few of my late aunt's dwarf army after she died (she played a few wargames and rpgs ages ago, and was trying to get back into them at the time).

Thanks mate.
She was of questionable sanity, but there was no denying her awesome.

Better go back and bury a 360 and a TV. Cool gesture by the way.

For some odd reason no-one that I know seems to die. The one exception to this is my best friend's Dad who died of a silent heart-attack back in '03. Seriously, I'm 22 and all four grandparents are still very much intact.

My Dad always wanted to go flying at some point in his life, but never got the chance. On his funeral I tied an action figure he bought me as a kid to a couple of helium balloons and let him go flying.

Other people thought I was nuts but it felt right to me.
