Hello everyone. I'll just explain this one. Have you ever had a time in your life as a gamer where you've understood something (this can be anything at all) one way, only to have it completely revoked when you come into contact with a wider group of fellow gamers that understand said thing as something totally different? Has this ever elicited covert (or even overt, if you ever admitted it) embarrassment?
Case in point, for about 10 years I pronounced "Deus" in "Deus Ex" as "duh", because I read it as the French word for "two". It was only until chatter started up again regarding Human Revolution including YouTube vids about it that I realised that literally every one else in the world pronounced it "Dey-Uss". I was pretty embarrassed about it, mainly due to my stupid misconception; but also due in part to the fact that not only was it correct, but "Dey-Uss Ex" sounded way better than "Duh Ex".
So, does the community have anything to share in this respect?
