Someone who spams and wants to invoke war between people.

Incorrect on the first one. Trolls don't always spam.
Second part is right though, "trolls" generally want to stir shit up on purpose.

My definition of a troll extends to people that bump up incredibly old threads to get attention for a cause of epically moronic proportions.

Again, I feel this is incorrect.

Trolling would be like me posting a religion thread and just watch the fireworks fly.

I'd say you get two trolls:
Troll-Troll
Basically a person who comes onto a forum and just spams it with vulgar posts, pictures, and anything generally offensive. Some are more discrete than others, such as try to start arguments based on consoles, religion, race etc. Either way, if the person would be seen as either rude, crude or argumentative in real life, they are most likely a troll
Know it all/I Can't Be Wrong Troll
This is the kind of unintended troll that arises in heated debates. Basically, they will never, ever admit that they are wrong or mistaken about something, and so just try side track the debate, have an unsubstantiated argument or outright ignore your posts. More a product of insecurity, but still in my eyes a troll as they don't serve to improve the community. For an example, think trying to reason with the Phelps.

"Trolls" is an awful movie with worse sequels. Some of the most tearing jerkingly bad acting and a plot that seems it would be good were it to focus solely on the psychosis of every character in it.

You know, I think I've experience trolls like this, and now that I think about it they're kind of the people I like. They're always great for a laugh or two, and it's fun to see them so high on their horse casting judgment upon everyone.

Honestly, I think trolls have the purest kind of fun. Not everything should be taken seriously. Especially on the internet. That's how they do it too. They say something that is pretty much a joke, but people take it and get angry over it all.

Trolling is a very broad concept. People with strong, legitimate, opinions can be branded as a troll. There's no true definition because you can almost never be 100% sure.
