What's wrong with pleb? I wanted to use something mild, considering that 'you galloping cuntbag' may have made Anarchemitis' pointy little head explode.
It hurt, it did.

Pretty good review if a little short. I haven't seen it yet and I would have liked a little more elaboration if possible. Definitely helped convince me to go see it though and I may have a stab at reviewing it when I do.

It was not as good as Bow Finger. Tropic Thunder was a good movie that made me laugh but there are better movies out.

I thought that it was an over all forgettable movie.

Robert Downy Jr. had some of the most quotable lines of any movie this year and was downright hilarious, and I do love seeing Ben Stiller getting shot and stabbed ('cause he's a shitty, pretentious actor/director), but the story is pretty shallow and not worth paying $8+ for.

Over all I'd say wait until it goes to the dollar theater or HBO.

there was a lot of swearing, and based off of American ratings systems, I'm pretty sure that's what got it it's rating.
That, and Ben Stiller punting a severed human head into the trees.

Was there a point to the caps?

I felt it would sufficiently illustrate my bewildered anger at Anarchemitis' criticism of Tropic Thunder for containing, horror of horrors, dirty words. If he doesn't like a film because of the humor, fair play, but if he honestly didn't expect a truckload of swearing throughout the film, he was either naiive to the point of rose-tinted retina implants, or he's simply wandered into the wrong cinema.
So what if has a different opinion? No need to insult him. As far as I was awear it looked like it didn't have a whole heap of swearing in it. Usless swearing in films is more annoying than humourous.

Why is everyone getting so damn uppity over this swearing incident? I used a very mild insult to augment my opinion, albiet to no real use, and proceeded to apologise afterwards.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

People swear in debates and arguments all over the world. This is not some new craze that's sprung up overnight.

Being insulted will not kill your pets/friends/family, make you infertile, ruin your credit rating or upload 20G of Guro Hentai onto your Hard Drive. It is a collection of letters formed into words which associate themselves to a negeative act or insinuation.

They do not have to get to you if you don't let them. If someone calls you a 'fecal discharge from the womb of a pox-addled whore', either ignore them, or respong in kind. But either way;

MOVE THE FUCK ON WITH THE GODDAMN TOPIC.

Anyway, just thought I'd actually amend my review with a quick summarry of the spoof ads.

Here's a hint champ. If you want people to discuss the topic at hand, insulting people who disagree with you is not the best plan of action.

Well done. Very observant. Now please stop talking about it, and get back on topic.

Oh ok. Your review was too brief and laden with platitudes. Your writing was solid but your opening hook just didn't work for me and the trailer reviews are a little too vague for a reader who hasn't seen the film.

The aggressive, Maddoxish, style works for you and it's a refreshing read overall, throw in a little more detail and some more personal observations and you're laughing.

Well, the main link between Galaxy Quest and Tropic Thunder is the satire of the genre, although they do also have the characters transplanted from their 'safe' actions to the real thing.

But they're both much better at satirising than the 'Insert Genre Name' Movie series.

In fact, when it comes to poking fun at mainstream cinema and TV, very few people get it just right - Tropic Thunder did hit the occasional duff note, but the references were still solid and not overdone.
