trouble with max payne

Hey Everyone.

I just bought Max Payne on steam and for some reason the audio in certain places is missing. Max's gravely narration isn't there and there is no audio on the in game cut-scenes. Is this a problem with the game or my pc because this is a brand new pc which runs other game audio perfectly.

I remember the same thing happened to me with Max Payne 2.

Just reinstalled it, worked fine afterwards.
It was weird, not sure if it'll help though.

If it's on vista/7 there's a fix out there. It's a super common problem.

just google no sound max payne and you'll get a trillion results for it.
