Trouble with Palkia...

Ok, so I've played through Pokemon Platinum and have caught/seen all of the Sinnoh region Pokemon so that Dialga and Palkia are available to ensla- capture. However, after capturing Dialga I accidently killed Palkia. On all subsequent returns it has been missing. Do I have to speak to the old lady again to refresh the spawn, does it apear at a certain time, or is it a one time chance?
Edit: rather than start a new thread I'll just use this one. I bought Emerald and am fighting Groudon. If I run from it, will it never come back no matter what? (Palkia did return, but this is an earlier game so it may be different).

If you saved afterwards, it is a one time chance. At least, that's how it was in Red. I haven't played any game fully since then.

Try beating the Elite 4. I think that refreshes the spawn.

If worse comes to worse and it is unobtainable, I'll just send all of my pokemon over to my Soulsilver account when I get it and restart the game (this would have the added bonus of the other starters/duplicate legendaries).

Update: I've caught it. You have to beat the Elite 4 again and talk to the old lady to refresh it.

No, it revives after you beat the elite 4 and talk to the old lady again. But I'm not sure if this relates to running from Groudon.
