As the sun sulkily rises once again, one cannot help oneself from thinking about old legends. Are they true? Do Vampires exist? How about witches? Most of you will answer "No". And that is a perfectly normal response from your species. Others have a more decuated opinion. You are not one of them.

You live in a monarchy. You do not know the map, and you do not wish to learn. The time and place is none of your concern. You merely exist with your partner as a simple farmer. You have no idea that your entire existance is about to be rocked. But...Just who are you? Really now?

What is your sex?

A: I am male.
B:I am female.

What did you do before you got married?

A:Bounty hunter.
B:Member of the royal guard.
C:Street begger.
D:Common criminal.

You are, or rather were, a Lady of the wild. You did things that you´re not proud of. But at the time, they seemed like the best (or only) option. You maimed, you killed, you pillaged. But all that is in the past now. You left your gang and haven´t seen them since. Word is they fell apart without you.

A lady of the wild knows how to handle herself. You don´t last long in the criminal business if you don´t. You met your husband in a filthy bar you intended to rob. He looked like the other patrons, but if you took the time to look deeper, you saw a man of real pride. Of dignity and honor. You started chatting him up and one thing lead to another. You fell hopelessly in love with eachother.

He proposed marriage and that was the end of your criminal career. Now, you live with your two children in an old countryside. You grow your vegetables, sell them in the bazaar and then you start over. It is quite idyllic for you. Until today, that is.

You wake up with a snap. A terrible nightmare has plagued your mind the last week. You cannot remember anything that provoked it, so you have ignored it.
"Another nightmare?" asks your husband.
"Uh-huh." your respond.
"Sorry to hear that. You just lie down and I´ll make breakfeast."

"Thanks." You lay down again and take a deep breath. Your husband rises from the bed and walks out of the room. "It´s just a dream." you calm yourself. You try once again to remember what the dream was about. Succulent memories of fire linger in your mind. But you simply cannot grasp them. You give up and rise from your bed.

Perhaps looking at things from the old days will calm you? Or do you want to check what your husband is doing?

A:Look at things from your bandit days.
B:Check up with your husband.
C:Try to get some more sleep.
D:Think about the nightmares again.

A it is(Coin flipped)

You walk forward to a shelf in the room. You look at the sword you used in back when you were a criminal. It´s in a holster. You take it out and look at it. It´s sharp and still well-oiled. A lady of the wild never forgets her friends. You slash with it in the air. Oh hell yes. It´s still just as satisfying to swing it around. It´s light and deadly.

Nevertheless, you can´t dwell on the past all day. The present is all to busy for you to do that. You walk to the fireplace where your husband is cooking some meat. Your two kids are sitting on their wooden chairs.
"Good morning, mother!" they say in a choir.
"Good morning, sweety pies." you respond. Your children are a lot like you. Same brown hair and rugged brows.

"Couldn´t sleep?"
You groan in response.
"So tell me, what are we eating?" you ask.
"Cow meat. I got it from the local pub for a good price."
You sit down at the table. Suddenly, a knock fills the silence.
"Who could it be at this hour?" you say.

"I´ll go check it out." says your husband. "Watch the meat, would you?"
"Sure."
You go forward to the fireplace. There is a small piece of metal you use for poking lying in halfway in the fire. You take it up and poke around a bit.

You hear your husband open the door, and then you hear a crack.
"Mommy, what was that?" asks one of your young.
"Hush." you respond.
Suddenly, three men enter the room. They are dressed in combat gear, which is inconvenient considering you´re wearing peasant clothes. But there´s something off about them. It´s their eyes! Their eyes...Are dead.

"Who are you?" you ask.
"We are sent out on behalf of the Witch of the Wind. Leave this house immediately." he answers in a monotone voice.
"Very funny. Who are you really?"
"I will not repeat myself." the man draws his blade along with his comrades.
"That´s how it is, then." you retort.

The man speaking with you charges forward. You quickly pull out the piece of metal and strike him in the face. The man backs off with a visible burn mark in his face. The other two men strike outwards. You block their attacks with the metal piece while moving out of the tight room.

You make your way out to the hallway and see your husband lying in a pool of blood.
"Oh god!" you scream out.
You feel a sharp pain in your upper leg and crash down. The man exploited your lack of attention and cut your leg. He stomps your hand and you scream out in agony while simoultaneoulsy dropping the piece of metal.

You use your other hand to pull out a knife you had holstered on your shin. You stab the man in the wrist and twist. It barely effects him at all. But you manage to get him to loosen his grip on your leg. You attempt to pull out the knife, but fail and roll away while getting up. You face the man and enter a fighting stance.
"It´s not to late to surrender." he says.
"That´s the best you got?" you ask.

But perhaps it is better to surrender?

A: Keep on fighting.
B: Surrender.

A it is!

You make a swift move forward and attack the man with a kick to the face. It hits and you hear a brutal crack as you break the man´s jaw. He stumbles backwards and falls to the ground as his face begins to swell. You see your chance and jump over him, making your way to the bedroom. You pull out your sword and face the entrance.

Your leg hurts, but you´ve had worse. The man with a burnmark on his face enters the room. He attacks you with some quick strikes, but you manage to block them all. He tries to hit your damaged leg, but you dodge his attack and grab his arm, using your blade to cut it off. You throw away the man´s arm.

The man backs off, holding the stump that used to be one of his limbs.
"This is not over." he exclaims before going out of the room.
He picks up his fallen comrade and makes his way out of your house while calling for his other fighter.
"Retreat! Retreat!" he screams.

You see the third man running out of the building. Jesus Christ. You walk up to your husband and crouch down beside him. You examine his wounds. Two crushed ribs. One deep cut. Three minor cuts. You lay down your blade and carry your man to the bedroom. Then you remember your kids!

You run into your cooking room and see your children lying on the ground. Decapitated.
You fall to the ground and begin to weep. You don´t know how long you cry, but by the time that you stopped, it´s already nighttime. You walk into your bedroom. Your husband has stopped breathing.

Suddenly, you are filled with anger. They´ll pay for this. But if you stay here, you´ll die. You got lucky this time. If they come back with more fighters...
But they...What they did...You can´t let them get away with this!

A:Stay and fight to the last drop of blood!
B:Evacuate. It´s what your husband would of wanted.

No. You can´t stay here. Would your husband want you to throw away your life to avenge him? No. You can´t stay here.
You carry your family out off the house. The sadness you feel is indescribeable. It feels like a big stone in your heart.

You take your shovel and give them a proper burial. Unanswered questions linger in your mind. Who is the Witch of the Wind? Why does she want your house? Is she a real witch? No, she couldn´t possibly be a real witch. Could she?
You refrain from answering. Not like it matters anymore. Your family´s dead. You can only hope god gave them a special spot in heaven.

Well. That´s it. You have some alcohol in your bookshelf. Perhaps you should burn your house down. Give that old hag a last inconvenience?

A: Burn it!
B: Let it be.

Nope. Whoever this "Witch of the Wind" character is, she seems to be relatively resourceful. Not the kind of person you want to piss off. You take one last look at your house and head into town. What does one do when one´s family has been slaugthered? One drinks, of course. You make your way to the local pub and get inside.

You check your pockets for money. You have 50 bronze coins *.
You order a glass of mead. The bartender offers one for you on the house.
How kind of him. You drink up and feel sorry for yourself for a while.

Suddenly, two men dressed in brown leather and bandoilers with arrows all over their body approach you.
"´Scuse me lady, but we heard you knew something ´bout the Witch of the Wind?" asks one of them men. He has a scar over his left cheek, but otherwise he´s pretty handsome.
You consider lying to them, but when you see the seriousness in their face, you give them the whole scoop, painful as it may be.

"So, you say this "Witch of the Wind" sent a couple of henchmen your way to make you move out?"
"Yeah. So what? Alot of people in power don´t like getting their hands dirty."
The two men look at eachother.
"Thank you for your time."
They walk out of the pub leaving you with nothing to remember them.

There´s something suspicious about these gentlemen. Perhaps you´d do best in tailing them to where they go next? Or do you want to order some more mead?

* This is the currency in this true RPG. 100 bronze coin is 1 silver dublin, 100 silver dublins are 1 gold coin.

Currency: 50 bronze coins.

A: Tail them.
B: Order more mead. (10 bronze coins.)

A it is!

You put down your glass of mead and sneak out the back door. You localise the two men - they´re pretty hard to miss. You pull up the hood on your outfit and begin to follow them. You duck behind stands, hide in alleys and blend in with the crowds. You nearly lose them once, but manage to pick up the trail before to long.

After about 5 minutes of following them, they enter the woods. Strange. Why would they enter the woods? There´s nothing out there except an old windmill an- WITCH OF THE WIND! Of course! How did you not make the connection?! Damn it! But that still leaves the question of what they want with her.

You better tail them some more. You continue following them, but it´s much harder in the woods. There´s no people to blend in with. Nevertheless, you follow them to the best of your ability. But then, the men start talking.
"So, how should we go about this?"
"There´s a chance she´s a Mokapo. We question her first."

"Alright."
Mokapo? What the hell is that? This just keeps on getting more intriguing.
You walk over a fallen tree, but slip and crush a stick.
You quickly roll into a bush. Did they see you?
"Must have been a mouse." says one of them.

The forest is lush and green this time a year, but that doesn´t help you especially. You stick out like a sore thumb. But at least they didn´t discover you.
You keep walking for a couple of more minutes until you reach a clear-felled area where the windmill stands proudly in the middle.

It´s old, broken and dirty, but it looks like it could potentially support one inhabitant. The whole place seems creepy and deserted. Nobody could possibly live in that dump, could they? The men walk up to the windmill. There´s nothing for you to hide behind in that area, so you stay back and hide behind a tree.

"We call forward the woman known as the Witch of the Wind." says one of the men.
The door on the windmill bursts open and forward walks a woman dressed in black and with a spiky hat. She has holster, but it´s not for a weapon. Is that a stick? Or...Or a wand?
But she can´t be a witch. She looks fine. A little pretty, actually.
"Hello there, gents. What can I do for you?" she says in a slick voice.

"We´ve had rapports of deaths in the area that sounded very odd. You happend to know anything about that?"
"No, I´m afraid I don´t."
The two men look at her with stern expressions.
"You´re lying."

The witch´s face turns a shade of red, but she maintains her composure.
"Gentlemen, I´m not sure what you´re accusing me off here?"
"Skip the smalltalk. We know you´re a witch."
The woman sighs and takes a step back.
"Okay. You got me there. I´m a witch. But you´re surely not so close-minded as to hate witches. Why are you here."

"As we said. We´ve had rapports of deaths in the area. Do you know anything about that?"
The womans sighs again.
"Yes. I´m the one who killed those people. But they deserved it!"
"On what grounds?" asks one of the men.

"They were whores. They were all whores." says the woman in disgust.
"And that justifies murder?"
"Yes!" screams the woman.
"And what about that lady? She was married!"

"She was a killer! A murderer! A theif! Besides, I wanted her house gone. I mean, have you seen that place? It´s a dump!"
Her harsh words hurt you a little, but you brush it off.
The woman pulls up her wand.
"But I´m afraid I don´t want anyone to know this. Farewell, gentlemen."

"DIRKOLIA!" she screams.
The two men smile at her. Her face then turns a shade whiter. Her eyes sharpen and she moistens her lips.
She mumbles something. Something like "Wtcbld".
The two men pull up their crossbows.

But their crossbows are strange. They are small enough to fit your hand, and they appear to have some sort of magazine on the bottom. They look like that new invention "pistol" you´ve heard so much about.
"Witch of the Wind, we find you guilty of multiple murders and attempted murders, crimes for which you will now be executed." says one of the men.
"That´s how it is then." says the witch. All of them enter a fighting stance.

Perhaps it´s time to intervene? Or should you wait it out?

A: Intervene - run straight in and give her what you have!
B: Intervene - sneak around the back and knock her out!
C: Intervene - attack the men.
D: Wait it out!
