So what's the best example of real talent that you've found on youtube? It can be anything that you thought took exceptional talent. (Building something, beating a game a certain way, whatever)

For me it would be this guy. Like or dislike the songs, you have to agree he has talent.

I dunno. I tend to only get on to trendy YouTube things a couple days after most people on the Internet.
I still manage to get in about 6 months before the news programs hear about it though... they have to be the most out of touch industry when it comes to Internet phenomena.

TotalBiscuit [http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut], he's an amazing StarCraft 2 commentator.
Actually I prefer Husky or Day9 for Starcraft2. TotalBiscuit was better in his Minecraft series IMO. But yeah, it's nice to see people who are good at game commentary (since I'm sure this thread will mostly be filled with talented musicians)

Meh I find all this music cover stuff crap most of the time. I don't mind original music, but almost always hate remixes because I've already hear them.

Still this is the most badass Orcarina of time Remix of all time:

Psystarcraft is my favorite starcraft caster. Although I'm a zerg/rand players so I'm a little biased.

His brother Zai (Zaisc2k or something) is pretty funny too. The videos where they do 4's are pretty funny.

And if we are just doing best youtube duo yogscast has to be said.

I'm not sure if this count (he has another personnel website outside of Youtube) but I say Pogo
http://www.youtube.com/user/Fagottron . He can use any sounds from a film, add some catchy beats and he had created a beatiful song. Example- this is what he did to Pixar film Up-

Rachel Bloom [http://www.youtube.com/user/racheldoesstuff]

Her first song, Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1IxOS4VzKM] is absolutely hilarious. Her second, I Steal Pets [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucmsunDs3jE] is not only funny in its own right but does a great job poking fun at auto-tune overuse.

Sorry but being able to play a difficult song and being able to write a song are 2 different things. This just seems silly to me.
So you don't think being able to play a "difficult song" takes talent?

Amazing pianist. Does a ton of covers of things you'd never expect on piano.

No clue what the lyrics are, but the song itself is pretty catchy and he does all the instruments. Dat mandolin solo.

Nope. Just time. Anyone can learn to play amazing songs. It just takes time.
think of it like this. You can spend a month learning 24th caprice

and you can be amazing at it. But if you don't know the background of the person playing all you know is they spent all their time learning a single song. The reason i used Yo Yo Ma is because we know he is amazing. And this song being as tough as it is just took time.
I think you and I have a different take on what classifies as talent. Yes, it can take time to learn a talent. It sounds like you expect people to have a natural talent, otherwise it doesn't exist. But I think if no one took time to develop their talent, there would be a lot less talented people in the world. Also, I used the word talent a lot.

For Comedy, JenxtheJinx is where I go to. (I love Demyx Time)
But if you haven't played Kingdom Hearts, it's not really understandable.
