Trying to install RPG Maker XP on Windows 7...

I'm trying to play RPG Maker XP to see what it's like, but I seem to get this message whenever I try to play:

"Failed to obtain a trail serial number from the nTitles server."

What do I do? I looked up that I should go to the Properties menu, but the instructions were for Windows XP users, so some of the steps they mentioned didn't apply to me since I use Windows 7.

Can someone help me with this? I'd really appreciate it.

It mentioned Windows Vista, but 7 is based off of it, so it should work.
