I know this is old news because the announcement went out last week, but I am genuinely upset by this great bastion of hillarity slipping away from us.

The owner of the site/founder of the company posted a message that says (in short) that he is shutting the site because it isn't fun for him to run anymore, there are too many people sending hate mail and death threats, he wants his staff to be safe from people who don't get what he is trying to do.

So...to make this a discussion not just my weeping over the interwebs how do you feel about this?
What's the best tshirt you've got/wish you had bought?

And although it's sad it's going, there should be a kick ass sale on tshirts now :)

Death threats? What the fuck is wrong with people?
This was the first thing that I thought. Who the hell is sending death threats to a t-shirt company?

Damn! That's just wrong. I got my π-mp t-shirt from there.

Anyway, didn't realultimatepower.com get hundreds of death threats? and you know Maddox will have had hundreds.

The rant on the site about why he's doing it is great.

Attention any venture capitalists or independent investors/business assholes who are about to inquire about purchasing T-Shirt Hell. Don't. You won't do the company justice and I won't take that chance. I'm putting it to sleep. It's over.

That's right, I'm crazy. I'm pulling the plug on a company I could have sold for millions. Why in the fucking world would I do something so stupid? Because I can. I don't care about money. This is the way I've always done things...my way.

Ha hadn't seen that before, the one with the black kettle saying to the black pot "what the fuck did you call me?" is genius. as is the cookie cutter. But i'm sure you will be able to get all of those t-shirts somewhere on the web.

I dunno... Its a little...
Well, I prolly wouldn't be wearing the shirts, but I would possibly be amused if someone else was wearing one...

I'm pretty sure just about everybody with a notable site has been sent a death threat or two.

Damn!
You can actually customize the t-shirt that the design is on for a price, and I think one of the options is longsleeve and black is probably a color.

It's a pity to see this bastion of crass free-speech tumble under idiot pressure. Unfortunately I haven't got any T-shirt Hell shirts, though I know I'd have liked to get a few. Perhaps they'll open up under a different name, quieter, some different designs and the like. Subtle comeback. I can dream.

As Khell said: if you have a problem with such shirts, take it up with the people wearing them, or ignore it. Going after the producers is just a little immature. Their shirts are a result of the market feedback after all, not propaganda thrust upon unsuspecting clothes dummies.
