Hello fellow escapists,

First a bit about myself (since I like to talk about myself VERY much! :p). I know that I can be a very nitpicky person regarding small gestures from people I don't know (yet).
My idea is that some good or bad gestures can be seen as small but do tell a bit about the mindset of someone on how they value things or people.

So a few questions to you peeps (also food for my own thought/behaviour on this):

- Am I too harsh, and yes/no why?
- Do you have any turn on/offs regarding people you don't know but do something you like or
dislike? What are they?
- Were your first thoughts on a person very far off later on?

-Usually yes.

You can tell quite a bit about somebody by the smallest of things, so you're not being too harsh.

and as for turn-offs/turn ons, If people seem confident at first glance then I think that's cool, but having too many people around them turns me right off, because it shows over-popularity, which means that if I were to get to know this person, they'd have little time to spare for me.

And no, they're usually spot on my thoughts. Too many people around them, coupled with confidence, seems to be a right turn-off for me, but Confidence in of itself, and somebody who values quality over quantity is somebody I would enjoy getting to know.

Yeah you can pick a lot of stuff up through subtle hints.

Immediate turn off for me is if they are smoking, I just absolutely hate it.

I like them if they look metal... or have beards.

My main Turn Off is Full Blown Goth/Emo ladies or being a Nazi/Race Supremacist. I don't really have any turn on's.

OBJECTION!

OT:

-Never heard of you.
-The only thing that keeps me away is a high-pitched voice.
-I tend not to make judgements. They had a habit of biting me on the ass when I was younger.

Ah, if only they kept her in permanently...

Can't deny the picture is interesting though.
Okay I will admit I laughed when they let her out because I thought it was a early April fools joke.

Even the smallest gestures means something. You're not being too harsh.

I have a lot of small turn offs (since I'm nitpicky). The nose; however, has to be right, else I'm not interested.
No big turn ons.

The more I think about it the more "yes" obvious, but that might be delusion.

You can pick things up through subtle hints, I agree, but just make sure you pick up the right things. Sometimes the possibilities are too many to understand someone immediately. Of course sometimes mental judgments are unavoidable.

I have to agree with Captain Pancake that confidence can be charming. However, people who try to exude confidence through clothes and transparent personalities come across as quite the opposite. In other words, some people may think their backwards caps, necklaces and constant use of the word "bro" may make them look confident, but all I see is a desparate grab for attention by someone with an inferiority complex.

On the other hand, insecure people who don't try to hide their feelings sometimes compel me to give them a chance.

In the end however, I find that most people, regardless of who they are, tend to be much more appealing when we're both engaged in conversation.
