I got this idea from a picture I saw on the web, velma holding a shotgun

its post apocalypse america, and they go around killing vampires and zombies
Freddy is now an ex marine sgt. Knows weapons and tactics.
Shaggy is a martial artist, very nimble and quick not a scardy cat anymore
Velma is the brain of the outfit knows science and medicine but still kicks ass with a shotgun
Scooby is a regular dog, smart and tough. think of the shepherd from I am legend
Daphne pretty much middle of the road, knows a lil of everthing the others taught her, shes the beauty can talk her way through anything a good BS artist.

I think you should keep Shaggy and Scooby they way they are. It's not really a Scooby Doo show if you don't.

Also "Hardcore" makes it sound like porn....and well Scooby Doo already has a porno made about it.

It's a kids cartoon show. It's seen an insane number of attempts to revive it for god only knows what reason since it is a 60s show through and through. Your idea is silly because its basically taking the name and apply it to a completely different franchise that has nothing to do with Scooby Doo. Mind as name the next resident Evil game Scooby Doo: Infection for all the sense it makes.

I don't know. Scooby Doo is the sort of character and series that really hasn't evolved with the passing years. They're still hippies riding out in their flower-printed minivan, and you'd suddenly plop them in the middle of what's ostensibly Fallout 3, plus paranormal shit?

Nah. Freddy, Velma and company have been in the mothballs for so long the mothballs have fused to their skin. Your idea reminds me a lot of Extreme Ghostbusters - a rather bland attempt at a Ghostbusters revival that was supposed to bring the series' mythology into the late nineties and early two-thousands.

It sucked.

As a cartoon idea it sound like a reboot that went wrong. Beside the latest remake "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated" is probably the best remake compare to the original unlike the other ones like "What's New, Scooby-Doo?".

As a fanart comic then it will probably be fine.

Scooby Doo was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I loved watching the reruns. Leave my childhood alone, damnit!

Nah it's not scooby doo and what's the point of making a scooby doo show without scooby doo?

I doubt hanna-barbera would change SD so drastically. Cartoon network or someone would have to change the names and faces and everything.

Then it isn't really Scooby Doo, though...it's just a generic Road Warrior setting with Scooby charecters.
That's what I was thinking. Shaggy and Scooby's fear and laziness, Velma's smarts but lack of braun...all of those little quirks and flaws are what made the Scooby crew so cool. Plus half the gimmick of the show was the goofy Great Dane that has a speech impediment and eats a lot of food. Without that, you can't really call it Scooby Doo anymore. I'm sure Scooby Doo could have grittier storylines and still keep those fun elements. I mean many great animes have goofy stuff and tonal shifts, and still confront things like actual deaths and moral situations. So if handled correctly, I think you could get the best of both worlds without cutting all of the character's hearts and souls out of them.

It's not even remotely Scooby-doo related, and we already have crazy amounts of post-apocalyptic entertainment.
