Up here in Canada, our equivalent to MTV is a channel called "Much More Music". Our local gym has elliptical walkers and stationary bikes with TVs attached, so I'll often watch this channel as I'm biking or running.

One of my favorite shows is "PunchMuchMoreRetro", which has the top two thirds of the screen being music videos, the bottom quarter is a rank list, and between the two is ticker tape with songs and code numbers on it. You can text in the code number of the song you want to hear for a dollar, the most voted songs will be played.

It got trolled today.

The playlist today was Samantha Fox's "Touch Me", Tragically Hip's "Century Ahead", A-Ha's "Take On Me", Samantha Fox's "Touch Me", U2's "Pride", Lover Boy's "Working on the Weekend", Samantha Fox's "Touch Me", Samantha Fox's "Touch Me"... see a pattern?

Actually, Samantha Fox's "Touch Me" would rise to the top of the rank list with 60% of the votes WHILE IT WAS PLAYING.

To you guys: Have you ever seen a live TV show get trolled? What happened?

No, never. although I have seen Keith Apicary (aka Nathan Barnatt) interrupt G4TV's crappy E3 coverage (which is kinda close), he got kicked out of E3 for it. Here's a video

That was the most exciting thing to happen on G4TV for years.

Why was he kicked out? He should've left on the shoulders of a cheering crowd.

there's the max headroom hack http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Headroom_(character)#Hacker

On November 22, 1987, two Chicago television stations had their broadcast signals hijacked by an unknown person wearing a Max Headroom mask. The first attack took place for 25 seconds during the sportscast on the 9 O'Clock news on WGN-TV Channel 9 and two hours later around 11 o'clock on PBS affiliate WTTW Channel 11 for about 90 seconds during a broadcast of the Doctor Who episode "Horror of Fang Rock." The hacker mumbled nonsense during his interruptions, including the phrase "The Greatest World Newspaper nerds," a reference to WGN's call letters, standing for World's Greatest Newspaper. The culprits were never identified.

Alert: Bum cheek at the end

Much More Music actually has music videos? Our MTV might as well be re-named Reality Show Central.
Yeah, it does... it has some stupid reality shows and sitcoms, but it also has PunchMuchMoreRetro (retro music videos), mmmtopten.com (current music videos), The Daily Fix (current and retro music videos with celebrity guest), and a bunch more.

Religious channels get Rick Rolled all the time. They start reading a viewer letter only to find out they've been reading the song lyrics tweaked to seem like an actual letter. The videos are all over youtube and such. They make me giggle, especially if one of the hosts is trying not to laugh about while seriously trying to reprimanding it.

Not a TV show, but I once worked in a furniture factory where the radio was always on. It was usually set to a local station, where one of the programs was called "Radio Bingo". The idea was that anyone interested could buy a Bingo sheet at some local gas station, and then tune in as the woman on the radio announced the numbers as she drew them.

Then, if anyone got a full row on their Bingo sheet, they would phone in.

Now, every once in a while, some idiot would phone in, burp into the reciever, and hang up. This did not happen often - I remember no more than three such incidents, and I worked there for at least two years.

The funny thing is, though, that the mysterious burper was the ONLY person who ever called!

Wait, so a music video channel got angry and belligerent over something said on the internet specifically to provoke such a response?
I think the word "troll" has to be properly defined for me, or the definition needs to be tweaked, if I'm reading you right.

Since when has MTV played anything with music in it and not reality TV bullshit?
They have a music channel, don't they?
They did called MTV2 then it became disease ridden just like the original.
So, Canada FTW?
Save the political party of French trying to taking half the country from them yes =x

That was awesome, and he was even a pretty good singer, too.
