Hell, I even got 'Saltene' from what I can only assume was a Chris Rock fan. But nothing kills the insult faster than taking pride in it. If someone gives me flak over my skin colour or religion or gender or whatnot, I just thank them for their compliment (and then get the f-k out of there before I get my face kicked in).

But it's totally possible that the attackers in this case will be. Did you know a larger percentage of Blacks than Whites have been charged (or convicted? I forget) of hate crimes in the US?

Well I disagree with the legal concept of a 'hate crime' anyway - an assault is an assault no matter what the reasons behind it are. Just lock the ignorant scumbags up for several years.

Agreed completely, the concept of hate crime already establishes a divide. It's one of those things though I guess...
