Well I normally use proper grammar, but I have noticed in my past few posts I have some type which isn't a misspelled word, but just not the word I meant to type. Things like that are very annoying for me to catch as even if I reread my post I see what I want to see, not what is necessarily there.

Have we really become so serious that it's become feasible to write off people's opinions based on their spelling capability? People, you are on the internet. Loosen up, will you?
If the post is completely unintelligible due to spelling / grammatical errors then yes. If, however it is just a couple of mistakes such that the meaning of the post is still clear, then no. Although picking out spelling errors is a lot easier than actually refuting any of the points made in the post...GenHellspawn said:

*Sigh* I know this website and it's members pride themselves with having good vocabulary and good grammar, but can we go two weeks without a thread stating the impending doom of the website just because some people have had some grammatical mistakes in their posts. [/rant.]
On topic, I am only a grammar Nazi to myself, I try to use proper grammar as often as possible, sometimes a typo or two slip by me, after I post but I usually go back and re-edit the post to remove the typos, that isn't to say that I have good punctuation, normally I overuse the comma somewhat, and besides the apostrophe, period, and question mark I don't really bother with the rest of them unless I'm forced to.
I do not however try to correct other members spelling, how they spell is their own business, if I can't read the post then I just skip it,I don't go on a tirade berating the poor guy just because he made a typo on commonly misspelled words, although, since I joined back in September there hasn't been a single post I haven't been able to coherently read from any other member new or old.

Thread Topic:It really depends, people can accidently type something in and there is no real warning about it. I tend to overuse the edit post button over small gaffs (I'm a neat freak).
If someone uses nothing but txt speak I tend to ignore it, but if it's doesn't take up the whole thing (Btw, Imo, & etc), I don't feel like it takes away anything.
Secondly, I find forum posting as good practice for improving grammar.
