I wouldn't call them bugs.. they are more reptilian in my opinion... but then again i didn't collect them i collected Tau and Chaos Space Marines.. Stated on a Nids army just before i stopped though...
The fact you collected at all makes you a rarity lol
Awww and why is that? i collected for about 5 years won a couple painting competitions. Kicked some pretty good ass with my Tau Army too
Not a huge hobby in Ireland. I've met one girl player with regular attendance at tournaments and such. You can paint? Damn I'm jealous. Tau, god I've such a terrible record against Tau.
lol understandable it's nothing huge in Australia here either. And I was the only girl who even entered the GW I went to.. apart from mums of 40 year olds that were getting their sons birthday presents XD

As for your record with Tau.. XD I use to pick on and completely annihilate this guy with Nids... stupid man kept accepting my challenge :p

GW is quite adamant that the 'Nids are more akin to "Alien Dinosaurs", but then I personally wouldn't be inclined to call chintinous, six-legged, strangely-coloured carapace-covered creatures dinosaurs.
However, I would like to see the Nids keep the variety they have now. The newest codexes have really been taking away the array of choice available to a lot of armies, and I don't want to see that happen to an army that prides itself on constantly evolving to meet the latest threats.
They're most certainly not dinosaurs. They have aspects of insects and, yes, mushrooms. They spread spores, grow new organisms out of any biomass and consume every bit of organic mass they get their claws on.
At the moment I'm satisfied with the variety of units in the codex. The possibilities of different types of armies are vast: nids can adapted to fight anything. New figures for gaunts would be cool, though. And gargoyles are dead-ass boring as jump infantry.
If GW dares to reduce the tactical capabilities of the carnifex, I'll file an official complaint. I would be nice to have something in between the warriors and the 'fex, big enough to take on terminators, heavy necrons and big orcs, but small enough not to draw artillery fire and lascannons.

40k miniatures are dolls. Just...smaller and spikier.

Nothing wrong with playing with dolls though.

Uhm

Heeeeellooo! This is the Hierophant, available from Forge World :)
It's one of the biggest miniatures made, akin to the titans or the Tau Manta.

Anyway, at the OP, I was really dissappointed by the new plastic raveners, they are not as cool as the old ones, and Raveners were always my favourite Tyranid unit. So I guess I hope for something better on the horizon. Until then, I'm buying all Red Terror minis to use as Raveners, since the special character itself seized to exist in the rules and I guess noone needs it anymore. (HINT)
EMPEROR PROTECTS!! How does it's spine do that?!

Do not seek to understand the Alien, for that brings you close to the Sin of Relativity. Instead, marshal yourself so that you might bring about the Alien's destruction and cleanse the galaxy of their taint in the name of our God Emperor.

It does that to be able to reach the tasty bits running around on the ground!

And to the last guy who posted; That is why you people always lose to my (very understanding) Tau army :p
Yet to lose to Tau. Seven games so far, against three different players, and the worst was a draw.

No. You know perfectly well it's an HQ unit. I meant something that could form a solid squad, elites. A broodlord is too valuable to be thrown at terminators.

I had heard of Warhammer 40k, but never looked into it. And those Tyranids look awesome. To bad that I don't have enough money to get started in this (very expensive looking) game.

First time making a thread, so I've decided to talk about something I know.

As I'm sure many people know there is a table-top wargame called Warhammer 40000 produced by the company GamesWorkshop and is responsible for the universe Dawn of War is set.
The Tyranids where my first army nearly eleven years ago. They are now being updated with a scedualed release for 2010. I was wondering from my fellow 40k players what would you like to see done with the bugs?
If you say bugs I will get a bio-titan to crush you. Why? because of this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug_(Starship_Troopers)

OT:What do you mean? A new codex? Hurrah!
Even more OT:I want them to be original. Don't try and leech off other sci-fi. Just stay true to the tyrant arachnids. A mobile infestation thingy? A tank unit that isn't atillery. And more blades, claws and stuff like that.

Probably the same girl I met.
Not an especially unpopular hobby here, from what I've seen.
Back in the day when Sligo had a games store/club, it was probably the most regularly played thing.
Except for Tragic: The Garnering, of course.

Could never afford any of these things. Never really wanted to, either.
