Not least because the family members (and Catholic priests) have actual physical access to the child! To be molested by a stranger online, the child needs to arrange to meet the stranger without their parents' knowledge. What happened to telling kids about "stranger danger"?Clearing the Eye said:A child is statistically more likely to be molested by a family member or a catholic priest than a stranger online.
To be clear, I'm not saying this doesn't happen. But a stranger online convincing your child to meet up with them still seems like a far lesser danger than a stranger on the street forcing them into a car on their way to school, which is in turn a lesser danger than an adult the child trusts (such as a family member) abusing that trust.
