This will likely go the same way that the previous generation went where games are produced in two versions until the previous console has been successfully phased out. Could be a year or more after the console release. Until that phase out period then the WiiU wouldn't be holding anything back and would just be getting a port. However, there is a legitimate fear of that once we are in the full fledged next gen cycle and the ps3/720 are no longer being developed for.Ed130 said:Exactly.
This console generation has dragged on to the point of obsolescence. The last thing I want is another reason for publishers to hold down the base processing level.
Because I would like to fight in actual large scale battles against AI smarter than your average CoD player rather than mere illusions and corridors that are the current fare.
But as with the gamecube and Wii we have had generations where the big blockbuster AAA version was made for the top of the line machines while a significantly scaled down version of the game was made for the odd system out. In any event, I think the next year will be very interesting.
One thing that's interesting is that the WiiU's middle-ground status will likely prevent it from getting anything but ports from the big 3rd parties. That's a poor situation for a console to get in.
