It's nothing against AC3, I'm just sick of buying Assassins Creed games after the mediocre game that Brotherhood and the short, story-free cut-and-paste ripoff that was Revelations.
I can understand being burned out on AC..because I swear to god if this was going to be another game remotely like that last two then I would have thrown in the towel

but you never know Assasins Creed: Wild Wild West may actually be good...

I'll probably get it a few months down the line, but it'll have to be pretty damn good to impress me. This is the fifth game in the series after all, not including portables.

I still see it as the third...and the others as spin offs...even though important stuff does happen in them (and other certain important details being left to DLC...which pisses me off)

my main concern is the story becoming to convoluted to follow

I don't think the plot is that convoluted, it's really just kind of silly to be honest...

to be completly fair some of it may have been me not paying close enough attention (particually in AC2..where I wasnt even aware of the timeskips and didnt collect all the puzzles)

but aparently...

[spoiler/]Lucy was a Templar sympathiser...which explains the ending of Brotherhood [/spoiler]

PLease don't. The problem I had with the AC2 sequels was the fact that I was still in Italy (And then Turkey, which wasn't much different) playing as the same Italian ****. And all the while, Desmond's plot keeps getting more and more left behind/ignored. What we need is for the series to advance. After AC3, maybe release some DLC for it. But don't make another full game. Leave that for two years. And then in AC4, maybe the entire game will be from Desmond's perspective and we'll find out what the hell the endings for AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations were about.

And then make a new series.

I did complete all the puzzles (in AC2m Brotherhood, and Revelations) and I had no idea. I checked it was revealed in a DLC, that is ridiculous and I join you in being pissed off.

AC3 is the end of Desmond's saga

makes me wonder if that was a decision ebcause people dont like desmond...then why did they do the thing with the "bleeding effect"

that is unless we'll get another "present day main charachter" but desmond will still be around

I laughed when i saw this :') cause i knew people would be like "NOOOOOOOOO LET IT DIE"

Personally i have enjoyed all AC games apart from the first, so i'm not bothered, if they keep the core mechanics the same i'm fine with this.
Same. Revelations was forgettable, but still fun while it lasted. I still occasionally play the multiplayer. I got my money's worth.
I actually liked Revelations, sure they added stuff that wasn't needed (like that stupid tower defence game, but luckily it was optional)but i don't see why people make a huge fuss over it :p

Well the claim that Desmond's story was always supposed to be a trilogy of numbered games (that way brotherhood and revalations don't count) but it is completely possible that they just don't want to admit that people don't like Desmond.

I also vaguely remember them saying in an interview that the next AC games will be just ancestor and not focus on the modern day character. Then again that could have just been what someone commenting on the news was requesting.

I get it, that many players were bored with Ezzio after Brotherhood and disliked Revelations, but they are not the true AC fans...

I loved Revelations, because of the new enviroment and the MOOD of the game(music/sound effects & visuals)... ...with Revelations, we got Ezzio back, but we also got ourselves a new, different part of history.

...though I think it won't be nice to make trilogies of all protagonists... ...INSTEAD, ONE GAME COULD BE LONGER (EVEN WAY LONGER, THAN AC 2 OR 3)...

...two games/protagonist is fine...

I've red the announcement somewhere, that Ubisoft is considering a 2nd game for Connor & I approve the idea...

...after that, we could get a new modern day protagonist & an ancestor, that has lived in the 13th century & met Altair...

I think, the best locations for future AC games are: Egypt(in several time-periods), China(16th century/protagonist could be close to Yuun from AC Ambers), 1st and 2nd world war(one protagonist in the 1st and his sun in the 2nd), Ancient Greek, The times of Jesus(the historical Jesus, not the biblical/though, that might would be risky to make, because religious fans could reject AC after that), 1st civilization times(Adam, Eve, or someone close to them as protagonist/that could turn out as a trilogy, or even four games), modern dayes(no ancestor)...
