Ubisoft E3 2010 coverage

New Rayman, new Rabbids and Ghost Recon were alright. The rest was crap. Geez, all three shows today blew.
video games used to be a place where I could get away form all the bull shit pop culture disney channel crap that infects most other media but now its invading the games in the Trojan horse of casual gaming. I can't take it get michel Jackson the fuck out of E3. enough copying nintendo, enough fitness games. focus on story, innovative/ fun gameplay, artistic environments, and imaginative new IPs not gimmicks. please, I beg you publishers please.
So my summary of E3 this year is about this:
"Hey gamers! We know you've been supporting us for years and have been the whole reason we've made so much money. Well FUCK YOU! YOU DON'T GET ANY GAMES! YOU JUST GET WORK OUT PROGRAMS AND TWO CAMERAS ON A STICK! What's that? You don't like it? Well that's no problem because we have this whole other market we're after! We don't need you anymore!"
When these things flop (because what casual is going to spend 300 + 150 on a 360 and a natal when the wii is half the price?) they'll come crawling back. And you know what? They can go to hell.

When I saw the last part of that conference I just slowly closed my laptop, then I went back to Splinter Cell, then remembered that SC is a Ubisoft game I turned off my Xbox and wept a little. That was just.... bad.
The conference itself was not bad, it was kinda good, not that good, just kinda. But to fuck up that bad at the end is just amazing. This is being added to the list as the worst E3 conference ever, worse than Microsoft this morning, worse than 06 Sony, worse than Nintendo 08.
You cannot fuck up your endgame any worse than that. Damn it I need a Men in Black mind wipe stat, get this out of my head!
This whole day was sad. I was praying to what ever God that this wouldn't happen, that developers wouldn't be bought out by Microsoft and have half of the conferences be about Kinect. But that was the case, and I do now fear more than ever that we are in some dark times ahead with gaming. The only thing we can hope for now is that this will all fail, the Wii will take the whole casual market and that Sony and Microsoft will call back to us and make some quality products. Please do not let Kinect be a hit and make console gaming as we know it change for the worse. I know I am sounding like a negative Nancy, but I can't be the only one who feels this way? That I am not the only one who fears that the casual market will invade real games and fuck everything up?
