Funny how almost everyone immediately assumes a video game adaptation will be a bad movie. Of course, there's reason for it, but this was exactly what people thought about comic book adaptations in the 90s, and look where we are now. Many of the most watched movies of recent years have been comic book adaptations.

I don't know if this is the movie that will change the trend, but someday it'll happen.

And Prince of Persia is pretty watchable. Nothing great, but not as bad as Tank Girl was in the 90's either.

Uh...that's a strawman argument. Just because comic book movies have come a long way, doesn't automatically make video game adaptations better by association. Comic books have a much greater breadth of source material, compared to gaming franchises that are limited (in most cases) to two or three installments.

For every Tomb Raider that comes out, there are 10 terrible adaptations. PoP was nothing to write home about. Hitman was butchered, and they cast the wrong actor in the title role. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was complete garbage. Tekken/King Of Fighters. Max Payne. I could go on all day. []TVTropes'[ [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VideoGameMoviesSuck]] "Video Game Movies Suck" page had so many examples that the moderators just decided to delete everything wholesale because it was the general rule rather than the exception. Add to that the number of planned game adaptations that get scrapped in pre-planning due to conflicts between the companies and filmmakers, and you see why they're mostly terrible ideas.

OT, I still don't see this project going anywhere. After Prometheus and Shame, I sincerely hope Fassbender's not considering the project. If he's playing Desmond, he's not going to have anything to do until the third or fourth installment (barring serious liberties with the source material). Altair had barely any story to speak of. Ezio had a lot of characterization, but he looks totally different, and his story stretched three games. I don't see Fassbender doing this, and I don't see this project moving forward any time soon.

I'm sorry, but AssCreed lost its charm after the first one, after that it just went downhill with the story and to some extent-dynamic.That's just my opinion.
All I remember are the assassinations from the first one(yes, even the optional ones),the rest is a foggy blur to me.

Although I did say that "someday that'll happen", referring to game movies turning good, it's still something I think will happen and not something I'm saying with all certainty that will happen. I just offered comic books as an example of adaptation source that was widely regarded as producing bad adapted movies in the past, just like games are regarded now. No strawmen were harmed in the making of my original post.

Oh Ubisoft. You don't have to make sure this film happens just for me;D
...Seriously, please don't. Okay? Just s- stop. Hey! Stop! Stop it!
I have no idea who you are, but I feel like we are fated to kung fu fight on a catwalk over a giant thing of molten lead or something.

Michael Fassbender alone will make me interested in this movie, especially after Revelations killed almost all interest in the franchise for me. He may be the only good thing about the movie, but at least we know there will be one good thing in it.
