In light of the recent Watch Dogs scandal, Ubisoft has been in a lot of hot water recently. Some people think they pumped up the graphics for their E3 demo to trick people into thinking they had a much better-looking game. I don't think that's the case, however. Considering the fact that they also ended up pushing the game back a year or so, my guess is they ran out of time, panicked, and were forced to cut corners to get the game ready for release whenever the hell they have it slated for now. However, this doesn't get them off the hook, because it highlights a growing problem with Ubisoft today: they are out of touch with reality.

Why else would they consistently pull games back from their previous launch dates, even when they're supposed to be launch titles? Why else would they decide to make Assassin's Creed a yearly release, then screw up AC3 by releasing it in a blatantly unfinished state? Why else would they go around saying something as stupid as 'We only want to make franchises from now on'?

This is absolutely fatal for a games company. If you can't deliver on your promises, people will stop believing you. Ubisoft needs to get in touch with planet earth, or else they'll just screw themselves, and everyone else, over.
