What do you guys think about Canonical's upcoming Ubuntu 13.10 supporting smartphones and tablet?

Will it find a place in the market? Can Microsoft, Apple and Google compete with what Canonical claim to be a single, unified system?

OT- Well, there are some issues in making Ubuntu for smartphone. The biggest issue is making itself relevant. In a world with Android, iOS and the Windows Phones, Ubuntu is going to have a very hard time staying afloat. If it diverges and offers it's own thing, however, for me it's a "goodbye Android" sort of deal.

As I've said before, I don't see it as competing with the other phone OS's. I for one see Canonical simply giving people more choice and alternatives rather than making an attempt to dominate an already over saturated market.
