She thinks getting drunk off her ass almost every night is more moral than watching a horror movie. I really think it should be common sense to her that horror movies are not damaging your health but whatever. What should I tell her?

Getting pleasure from damaging your own body
or
getting pleasure from seeing other people get tortured and murdered.

I can kind of see her point. Although you might want to put it to her that the real pleasure in watching horror films is the fear and adrenaline rush YOU feel. So you could instead see it as;

Damaging your body through alcohol
or
damaging your mind through stress.

... Well, at least the stress is minor compared to alcohol damage.

Still, remember that it's her body and her drinking isn't exactly 'immoral' 'cause she's not hurting others (unless she's a violent drunk and starts beating people up or something). Of course it's not the best way to spend a night but it seems like you're judging her for it more harshly than you should.

Amn... wrong is subjective. That being said:

What you both do is simply a way to achieve entertainment. She likes to get drunk, you like to watch horror movies.
There is a small difference though. She uses an active way to have fun which is clearly known that prolonged exposure will make harm while your way is more passive simply letting your brain make all proteins and whatever. I'm not aware of any study that states that prolonged exposure to horror films can damage your body.

You should tell her this:

"We're arguing over the morality of activities that are inherently without moral value except those which we as individuals ascribe to them thereby only proving that we have different individual moral codes. Neither activity contributes to society as a whole and we should go back to arguing whether the Enterprise could beat an Imperial Star Destroyer in a fight."

Why does it come down to those two options? Why not just watch some, like, romantic comedy or something?

Never mind, THAT would be damaging.

I don't see how morality factors into choosing to drink or watching a horror film either way.

The only way drinking would be immoral is if you're an alcoholic who promised your sweet little six year old daughter you wouldn't touch another drop, or you were going to drive some time soon.

The only way watching a horror film would be immoral is if it was in fact an illegal snuff film...

bottom line: it's a scientific fact that our brains keep developing until around age 21-23 (don't quote me). excessive alcohol consumption, i.e. being "drunk off your ass", before you reach this age does proveable damage to your brain.

I'm guessing the fact that she's trying to compare horror movies to excessive drinking means she's not that old yet. So you win.

She can do whatever she wants, and believe whatever she wants.

If she wants to damage her body by drinking excessively, let her. She won't stop drinking unless she wants to, so there's no point in trying to push it. The more you push the more likely it is she'll continue.

I don't think he's going so far that he's completely wrong to want to show her why drinking excessively isn't a good idea, especially compared to watching a movie. There's a line between expressing your opinion and pushing it and going too far. I don't think he's gone so far that he's somehow in the wrong for wanting to do this.

"I feel differently. This is why: *insert factual points that support your opinion* However, I respect what you think."

The comparative morality of these two activities is relative. No matter how good an argument you can make, you can never prove her wrong because morality is not quantifiable. The best you can do is explain why you feel as you do, and ask them to tell their side, and respect their opinion.
OK, so respect isn't technically necessary, but rarely have I seen someone be insulting or self-righteous without falling into logical fallacies.
