I used to play WoW alot, and my friends would facepalm everytime they wanted to hang out (which fell on every single tuesday/thursday night at 8:30 when I was supposed to raid) and say WoW took over my life, but they never said that when I played Oblivion, Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Half-Life 2, Starcraft 2, Ogre Battle 64, Brawl, .... the list goes on and on.ZeroMachine said:Hey, glad to see I'm not the only person that's dealt with that bullshit.Torrasque said:They're all first person shooters I guess, but for the most part they are really different.
The most uninformed comment I have heard about video games has to be:
"You play WoW? You must have no life, play nothing but WoW, and dedicate your whole EXISTENCE to playing WoW!!!"
- The same can be said about *ahem* EVERY OTHER FUCKING VIDEO GAME FANATIC.
QFT /facepalm.TriggerHappyAngel said:Explaining that the Wii realy can produce some cool graphics always gets me a "NINTENDO FANBOY!!!" comment -_-
Zomg, did you see the thread about a possible new Timesplitters game?!Palademon said:Make them play TimeSplitters, NOW!
Yep, I'm part of the TimeSplitters Escpaist gorup so I knew about all the glimpses of oppurtunity a while ago. But I was glad they actually made a statement.Torrasque said:Zomg, did you see the thread about a possible new Timesplitters game?!Palademon said:Make them play TimeSplitters, NOW!

Future Perfect ended far too abruptly D:
Thats the thing about a game involving time travel; they can invent as many plot twists and make use of plot holes that you didn't know were there.Palademon said:Yep, I'm part of the TimeSplitters Escpaist gorup so I knew about all the glimpses of oppurtunity a while ago. I wonder how they'd manage to make a 4th after the ending of future perfect. And I hope it doesn't change too much at once, especially with the looks. And I kind of hope that in multiplayer games they'll be an option for with or without a reticule to feel more classically, and a cheat menu accessible from multiplayer menu, if they make it. I'd also like maps that have portals so one game is being fought in different time periods...
I have too many worries and ideas.
To be fair, every football game probably did.YOUM@D123 said:wow he sounds just like my dad apparently every football game 'stole from madden'Pielikey said:My Dad still calls Open World over-the-shoulder games GTA-Clones.

Ignorant generalizing you say? Why, here's a prime example right here! It's really like you wrote this post trying to prove the OP's point. Maybe you should actually play some of the games your writing off ("broaden your gaming horizon") before you just blindly label them all as CoD clones.gunheads said:Most games in the last 5 years do follow a very similar pattern, either a super-human space marine fighting some unspeakable evil (See halo). Or its a call of duty clone (ANY FPS), Simply put, If a game sells well, Dev's will copy that game. At this point in time, If you want originality, look to indev's making games like "minecraft", Or broaden your gaming horizon, try genres like RPG, action-RPG, MMORPG and RTS. There are alot of good games set for those styles, like mass effect 3, Cataclysm and The Elder Scrolls: skyrim. All of these games have at least 5X the game length and playability of most FPS's today.
