My computer isn't working at the minute, I'm using my sister's laptop to type this.

Anyway, I was playing WoW and it froze suddenly, the music I was playing was HEAVILY slowed down and I couldn't move the mouse, I left the application and it was fine, I went back into it and the same thing happened.

I restarted the computer and it ran fine, I checked everything and was feeling secure to go on WoW again.

It froze again, It messed up my colour settings and I couldn't move my mouse again, there were lines going down the computer screen, it's hard to explain.

I waited half an hour, then checked, nothing had changed, I tried everything to quit WoW but I couldn't. I restarted the computer again, when booted up the colours were messed up again and it had the same lines, the computer wouldn't start either. I tried a few times and came out with the same results, the repair on my computer did nothing.

I left it for a while and it wouldn't turn on, I opened the computer up, nothing seemed to be disconnected. It was pretty dusty so I tried to clear some dust off, I tried to boot it up again and it still wouldn't work.

Stuff has happened to my computer before, sometimes it wouldn't let me boot up anything, other times the computer screen wouldn't be compatible with the computer.

I have no idea what to do, I don't really know anything about this sort of stuff, the Escapist has a large community of PC Gamers, I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has seen something similar or knows how to fix it, any advice would be grand.

Well if it is dust it's time to break out the small screwdrivers and remove the plate below the fan (If you have that option like my laptop) and try to clean it out.

It's overheated. If it wont boot up then you have probably done damage to a critical part of the hardware (would need testing to find out what)
The fact it started having issues in a game points to this, as they usually strain the system more then most other programs.
Basically I suggest taking it to a PC technician.

If it's really overheating clean it and let it rest a bit to cool down. It should work fine after that.

But the color thing sounds more like you fried your graphic card to me. Does it boot without anything appearing on the screen or is it dead like the whales on Neonbob's walls?

The behaviour and particularly the "lines" you mention indicate an issue with your graphics card. If you have a spare card, try to swap it.

Though if you're not too good with hardware best just take it to a technician.
