Ultimate Gamer

Ok, this show 'Ultimate Gamer' has just recently aired in Australia and after a few episodes I can see a few mistakes.

Firstly, from what I have seen they should call this show 'Ultimate Xbox 360er' because all they are playing is the 360. I have seen no PS3 and on top of that, no one who plays RTS. They are all shooters, fighters and racing games... and Dance Dance Revolution.

Does this show get any better, or is it just the same crap over and over again?

Oh you have been watching "Casual Gaming Superstar Pizazz Show"... I'm so sorry. To answer your question no they only play about 4-5 games that people take seriously, sort of. Prepare for silly things like guitar hero. If they threw peggle in that show would be complete.

I was hoping. You know, I was hoping it would be watching those people who are fucking Pro at CoD4 or Starcraft just proving how good they really are... but no, its just watching a few people playing Ultimate Fighter and PGR4 (personally PGR is the crappiest Racing game around)

It seems people always over- and mis-use the word "ultimate".

Of course if it was about pro gamers and not pretentious gamers, then it might have had a more "pro", "uber" or "1337" title.

I was also surprised to see a show called Ultimate Gamer actually have no profession gamers there.

Where was the current Guitar Hero world champion? he could easily beat any of those people on the show.

I have the same complaint about "ultimate" fighting. Sure, they call it ultimate, but I've watched several fights and haven't seen a single Final Atomic Buster, Kamehameha Wave, or even an impromptu bear fight.

I contend that PGR is good fun. Sure it isn't meant to be a simulator like Forza or GT, but it is a great semi-arcade racer.

I may not be the best judge as I havnt liked a racing game since Jak X and that was only because I love the Jak and Daxters and the cars had guns.

On topic, this sounds like a rather silly TV show that I would probably ignore if it were on anywhere else...except for the episode where someone did the above mentioned thingmy...

"Ultimate" Gamer is a bit of an exaggeration...I watched 1 episode where they had guitar hero, 1 guy scored 20000 and the other scored 70000...most of them aren't too good.

Why do people keep watching TV at all, I ask you? I've decided eight years ago that the negatives so monstrously outnumber the positives that I just stopped watching it, and as time goes by I only find more things to back up my opinion. People, just let TV die and be supplanted by the internet.

if ya wanna watch a good game show, then just watch the world cybergames. Thats where all the (semi) hardcore gaming goes on.
