That's exactly what I mean.

Every difficulty curve graph I've ever seen has had difficulty on the y-axis (vertical) and progression on the x-axis (horizontal).

If the difficulty curve is horizontal then it never gets any harder, in the case of Mirror's Edge it never gets any harder than impossible-to-lose-in-combat.

When playing as Murray in the Sly Collection today. He uses bare fists, so I suppose that counts. You don't play as him very often however.
His also my favorite character in the sly games, played it my old ps2-
Ahh the memories:p
Well, he's more fun to play than Bentley, but I got pretty tired of hearing him blabber about "The Murray!" every time he opened his mouth. :p

Condemned 2 was a lot scarier than it's predecessor because you could fight with your hands, whereas the first game, whenever you did not have a weapon you were safe in the level till you found one.

Then the scariness worth off after I embraced the inner hobbo and picked off guys from the shadows with my punch dagger.

Diablo II LoD. I made an Ironman Barbarian, no weapons, no armour, no going to town. You can only use potions that you find in the wilds. And it's on Hardcore mode...

I played mostly unarmed in the MUD [http://www.materiamagica.com/] I played for about 5 years. I even wrote a script to call out random kung-fu mumbo-jumbo whenever my martial arts skill kicked in. The damage was mediocre but it allowed me to hold TWO spellbooks or items of power at once.

I got to 50 unarmed skill with my second New Vegas character, but only because I found out that the ballistic fist was awesome and I had already maxed out speech, barter, lockpick, medicine, science, and repair.

You can beat a lot of stealth games effectively unarmed, provided you are good at sneaking around. Thief is a good example, I can't remember bothering to attack enemies with anything other than the blackjack. If it came to a sword fight, you were probably in trouble.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines is pretty easy unarmed for a Gangrel character. Game sort of encourages it.
ah man my fav game of all time XP but try unarmed with brujah, with no mod's getting level five potience made you dame near unstoppable!

I have played a diplomat character of the Tremere clan, hated that guy he was anoying in times of peace and a wimp in battles.
Good at intelligent things like investigation.

only time I will use unarmed is if I don't have a weapon. only happened twice, once in Oblivion when I was attacking one of the dudes trying to kill the emperor (knew I wasn't going to win it was just for kicks) and the other being in dragon Age Awakening when i got captured by the architech and he took my weapons and armor and everything really

Actually, there was this glitch when I was playing Black Ops multiplayer with some friends and the glitch made me respawn without any weapons. So I had sneak around the map searching dead bodies. It happened a few times and it actually was kinda fun, it added a sort of survival aspect to the game were I had sneak up beghind people to stab them then take their weapons from their corpses.
Heck, that sounds more fun than some of the game modes. Perhaps some tweaking could make that a good game mode?

Every game I can.
There are 2 things I do in games if I can.
1) go jack of all trades build
2) go unarmed.
Fallout 3 was fun for me let me tell you. I used brass knuckles at most. also no armor. just a nice suit.

I played through Mirrors Edge without ever firing a weapon once. Went perfectly okay. Faith can be a rather mean unarmed fighter when im behind the controls. :)

Tried it in fallout 3, got bored before i even left the vault. In Oblivion i used to use it when i was really sneaky for the crits until i leveled up and the enemies stopped dying to 1-hit-kills.
Only time i use unarmed is as a heavy, although that stopped when valve brought out 200 different sets of buyable boxing gloves. Nice one gabe.

I tried creating a "martial arts" character in Morrowind once with full focus in hand-to-hand and unarmored. Unfortunately it didn't really work out for me, since you have to get through a target's fatigue before actually hurting them. I'm sorry, but swinging a fist into someone's face should hurt them from the get-go. I tried some mods that claimed to address this, but they proved to be unreliable (only seemed to work on every other enemy for some reason).

I started over and settled on an unarmored character that focuses on magicka instead. Combined with a magicka regen mod, it was an enjoyable experience.
Morrowind's unarmed/unarmored was horrible. Apparently the unarmored was also glitched, leading to an issue with the actual AC in the game.
