That's not the title of the latest High On Fire album, by the way-I'm in a bit of a creative drought at the moment. I have no albums, no ideas on How To Buy's, zilch. Dx

[HEADING=3]SO! Is there an album you'd like me to review, to see me praise or decimate it? Is there a band or a genre you want to know what to get and what to avoid like the plague?[/HEADING]

[HEADING=2]Then let me know here![/HEADING]

Mostly I'll be accepting reviews of the heavier side of the musical spectrum. [sub][sub]Anyone mentioning bands regularly featured in NME (i.e crap landfill schmindie indie) will be incinerated.[/sub][/sub]

EDIT: These reviews (if you're what I would tentatively call a fan of mine, you'll notice) will be considerably shorter than the regular ones, at about 2-3 paragraphs, but I'll be putting them out at about 4 or 5 at a time.

Daft Punk - Human After All, or perhaps more in your general direction, The White Stripes, with their debut album, The White Stripes.

Hollywood Undead!
Five Finger Death Punch!
3 Inches of Blood!

Am I doing it right?

But seriously, I think you should review some power metal.

Power metal! Good idea. That might be a How To Buy idea, or I might do a Sonata Arctica album.

I'd suggest Alestorm if you can.
Specifically the album called Captain Morgans Revenge.
It's quite good.

Please do! I want to invest in some, and need to know where to start.

How about the latest OK GO! or Barenaked Ladies albums, compared to their previous works both are absolute shite and eyt have recieved good reviews by writers desperate to hold onto their allegiences.

BTW I've never read NME so I don't know what kind of thing they refer to, you need to be more specific.

How about some Dropkick Murphy's?

Or some Flogging Molly, similar, yet different. And there's several albums from each for you to choose from.

How about a bit of the Swans?

Granted, it's "not metal", but it's very good and noisy.
Well, Swans are very highly regarded by metalheads/metal press. It's crushingly heavy art rock, I heard it described somewhere. Big influence on post-metal bands like Isis and Pelican.

So, yes, I'll do that. You have some of their albums, don'tcha?

I just thought of another band, they're a post-metal group called Battle of Mice. Give them a listen and see if it's what you're looking forI dunno, that popped into my head and I thought I'd share.

Thanks for the contributions, folks. Albums I'll be reviewing are-

Swans-Children Of God
Alestorm-Captain Morgan's Revenge
Flogging Molly-Drunken Lullabies
Muse-Resistance
Bullet For My Valentine-Fever (not suggested, but I've been intending to do it for a while)

And at some point a How To Buy for power metal.

Do me a favor and review all things regarding T(h)rash Metal and grunt.

IMO, that genre is the fastest way of getting limped eardrums and a severe sore throat.
[sub]I'm not provoking a flamewar, it's simply freedom of speech.[/sub]

Well he loves thrash metal, so I don't see that happening any time soon.

Bad idea to provoke thrashers, trust me. They're a volatile bunch.

Given the fact I am a diehard thrasher, that's a good idea. And as for thrash as you seem to be unable to call it, it's a way of getting damaged neck muscles more than anything else. Kindly do your homework.

I was referring to 'grunt' when saying you will get a sore throat of it, especially when trying to sing along. Apologies for any misunderstandings.

Well, thrash is either sung or shouted, so, again, do your homework.
You mean screaming/death grunts, and it's impossible to review that seeing as there's screaming/grunting in nearly every metal genre.

How about some prog rock/metal? Ayreon and Dream Theater and such. Some of the better ones are spellbinding but rather long, so it'd be good if someone else out there could do it for me and report back.
