Now, I could be wrong, but isn't the only thing we know about Nathan's family the fact that he's descended from Sir Francis Drake? What extended family (that's alive at the same time as Nathan) is there to focus on? Oh, right, game movie, it's gonna completely ignore the source material.

Dammit dammit dammit...

Why? It had all the right stuff (besides casting...) to be an awesome pirates of the Caribbean mixed with Indiana Jones kinda thing, and if they got a good humor element in it, it coulda been killer.
But what fucking extended family? Respect the source material or at least don't base your movie on something and then write a different story using the same faces and places. Write an ORIGINAL STORY.

I have no faith in this movie, because its based on a video game that captures the feeling of movies. Uncharted basically puts you in the shoes of Indiana Jones. There is no way to make a movie about the feel of a game, so its just going to end up as a shitty Indiana Jones remake. Most like the fourth one.

Well, I don't know what I expected, I mean, I knew this movie would be shit when they didn't cast Nathan Fillion, so this is just one more reason not to go see this.
So wait the guy from FireFly got replaced by that dude from The Happening, really?

My God that sucks, I mean I dont hate that Walberg guy but Fillion had a smugness about him yet still managed to be likable, he was about the only guy I can think of that could make Drake likable and keep with the character.
The developers at Naughty Dog who made Uncharted actually modeled Nathan Drake after Nathan Fillion because they were huge fans of Firefly. I have no idea how he wasn't a sure thing for the role.
Well thats a diss right there, do they really think that theyll get that much of a boost from the general audience because hes more universally aesthetically appealing... yes, yes they would but its still an insult. Not to mention really stupid as their going to lose alot of money and take a massive flaming from the hardcore geek audience. My sister for one is a massive concubine when it comes to Fillion (before you all look at me weird, this is how she put it... basically... eeerrrwww).

ah yes, another case of taking the basic elements of a game and applying a completely alien overall theme and plot to the movie version.

because thats worked so well before. when will hollywood get it into their thick skulls that making your thing out of source material results in 'the movie made for no one'? the watchmen movie was great for one main reason; it actually followed its god damn source material. nobody wants to see you completely mishandle their favorite characters, they want to see their favorite characters unchanged and in film form.

this formula has NEVER worked; following the source material like watchmen HAS worked...why is this so hard to get hollywood?

....i dont even care about uncharted and hate nathan drake as a character, and this is still cringe-worthy to me.

Ummm ok so... So its NOT a movie based on Uncharted?
Really hate it when hollywood tries to get people to see their movies by giving them a well known name that has nothing to do with what that script about.

Was talking to my cousin during the week and he was telling me its going to be based in New York. How can you have New York as Uncharted :/ Makes no sense to me.

Over all i have a feeling there just gonna turn this into another action shooter like Bourne or something like that.

Uncharted being a family movie to me wont kinda fit very well i mean i was thinking to of it to be like a pg 13 type of film where all of the rating content to be in the film if ever producted in a family film some of the elements will be lost

Who cares? It's not like anyone is going to see it after Nathan Fillion didn't get the role.

I would be much more outraged right now if Nathan Fillion was in it.

I've never played Uncharted, so maybe my opinion on this is a little uninformed, but this sounds kinda cool to me. I've always really liked the idea of a family that goes on adventures. Reminds of Jonny Quest.

Well Im not that big a Marvel fan but I can at least think of one thing about each of its main francises I love. As for the Wolverine movie, I liked it not but it was not the best Marvel film. However it was a thousand times better then that massive fan slap X-Men 3... my word that film was dire...

"HEY guys lets just completely do away with any character and idea that did not have casual veiwer appeal and emphasise the relationship between Logan and Jean because thats what people want in their X-Men film, romance and not just any romance but one that no one in the original series gave a toss about!"

Dont get me wrong I liked the fact Wolverine had a bit of depth when it came to his team mates, its not only that he did not like taking orders from Scott but that he thought he was not good enough for Jean, but he did not have the time in the movies to develope it, not to mention what made it sort of sweet in the original series was that he surpressed it as he had had relationships before and they had not exactly gone well.
